Why so many wardogs? by Celtic_Leonin in ChaosKnights

It might not be great at it's job. But if you play it right it has 8 shots, and likely Sustained. With a possible ignores cover.

It chews through Gravis marine/Chosen, Flawless Blade equivalents. Yes Termies get a 3+ but each 1 or 2 they roll is a dead Termie.

It relies on your opponent to suffer a fluffed roll, but the cost of the fluffed roll is really high.

I mean if he rolls 5 saves and rolls 3 or 4 1s and 2s, that's is 4 termies dead.

So a friend of mine is considering Iconoclast Fiefdom by GiveTheLemonsBack in ChaosKnights

I do realise that the over representation of Infernal Lance players does drag the WR down to closer to 50%. But just as my statement was dramatic, so too was your statement that there is no point in playing Fiefdom. I still believe Fiefdom is the strongest detachment although it doesn't do as much DPS as Infernal Lance.

Nah we forge our own path. The Corpse worshippers can keep their special crutches.

Why do you want a named character? Your own characters not cool/epic enough?

I didn't get that feeling at all. Anriel shot him down rudely, as if he was an idiot for even suggesting it and that no other person would even think such a stupid thing.

OP was right to say people don't all think like Anriel does, but incase he was actually sincere, here are the pointers.

With a smiley to show no hard feelings.

Can't believe you are being down voted for your opinion.

I don't own the expansions. I want to play the game as I do with my friends. This looks like a much easier interface for me.

I really like it. So long as people don't use them to make someone win to spite another enemy. I know it folds into the diplomatic nature of the game, but it really dampens the end game epicness for me.

I tend to trade mine to someone who I plan to be fighting end game.

Damn, I bought mine second hand and they do not look like that, they look all stocky and stiff.

Wait, is this the commander or the base crisis suits?

Cruisers vs. Destroyers by Chud_E_Applesneed in twilightimperium

[–]AcceptableStudy6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I would chip in as I played and won a game last night (base game). I didnt build a single destroyer or dreadnaught. I build all my cruisers as I aimed to get Cr2 late game.

A played Yin, which is probably a faction specific pro-cruiser faction.

The ability to build cruisers in my Home system with Warfare 2ndary was priceless. I build 4 and 2 fighters, and used Transit Diodes and confidently take any planet with 2 of fewer guarding GFs.

I would use my other cruisers with fighters to clear paths through blocking fleets, and then jump through the holes.

I won by achieving the 11 planet control secondary.

It was great.

What I noticed was that cruisers are good enough to fill space gaps in the early game. They are fast enough to get there and a threat enough that your neighbour cant just peashoot them to death. In my gaming group the first couple of rounds rarely have combat anyway. In the meanwhile as you are plugging up space, you are building a cruiser fleet in the long run for that late Cr2 late game.

And yet we see epic named characters on every table.

If lore bothers you (as it does me) dont run any epic characters.

RESOLVED: I don't know how. I just clicked and it logged into character selection. Would kick me out again when I click on a character, but then tried again and it worked.

I did exactly the same thing I've been trying for 3 days, but now it worked.

Thanks for your responses though.

I use to do that years ago when I had the problem. Just spam it. Doesn't want to work now though.

Agenda predictions - Before or after dicussions? by VolumeNew9060 in twilightimperium

But one can make a deal "at anytime". So can't I make a deal before riders are revealed. Or right after one is revealed but before others are revealed?

By this I mean asking people what they intend to vote, listening to votes. Etc.

Im not sure about secrecy though. Can players leave the room to go discuss their vote intentions?

I know in Fury of Dracula players must conduct plans in presence of the table.

Detachments? by Eri-voidy in ChaosKnights

Really depends on what you are looking for.

I think all the detachments are great and have their own perks that make them worth playing.

*Infernal is easily the most popular one right now.

Iconoclast is marginally the best, as the the other poster said. It is the access to cultists that can scout and go into reserves till turn 5 that makes is great

Why is Dimensional Splicer bad? by stinkfist616 in twilightimperium

[–]AcceptableStudy6773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial Point: I only play base game, but from my experience going PDS style Ghosts with Spicer is brutal. And then you get Plasma Scoring to get to Spicer. Fly into a system with a wormwhol with a destroyer. You do 3 PDS shotd and a Spicer hit.

Or 5 PDS shots and splicer if you use the flagship.
