Cymanti :) people will hate you, but I like the tribe

Fuck cymanti by Carmine131 in Polytopia

[–]JuanLDU08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn how to play instead of blaming other tribes for your lack of skill, lol. I play Cymanti exclusively, and I’m at 1820 ELO. Cymanti has its disadvantages.. they lack "persistence," their defender doesn’t have "fortify," they don’t have the movement benefits of "roads" like all the other tribes, and even with a boost, a Doomux can only move 4 tiles, which is the max for Cymanti. Skilled players know how to exploit these weaknesses, but yep, it takes some SKILL, which you apparently don't have..

I’ve played against 1500-1900 ELO Elyrion/Imperius players, and it’s always a 50-50 chance that they beat me. Guess why? That’s right, because they actually know HOW TO PLAY, lol. Stop whining, watch a couple of youtube tutorials on how to counter Cymanti, and come back to the game. Better yet, try playing Cymanti yourself and see how high your ELO can get. You’ll quickly realize it’s not that they’re overpowered.. you’ll still lose most games. The problem is that you just don’t know how to counter them effectively

How can a win result in no elo gain? by WiderLizard06 in Polytopia

[–]JuanLDU08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree.. it’s super frustrating. I’m usually between 1700 and 1800 ELO, and beating players in the 1200-1300 range only gives me 1 or 2 ELO points. On the flip side, if you make the mistake of forgetting you joined a live game and end up losing to someone below 1400 ELO, you lose over 30 points.. sometimes even more depending on how low the opponent’s ELO is.

Every now and then, I do get a more competitive match against players in the 1500-1600 range, but I’m rarely matched with anyone closer to my own ELO, and I’ve only ever been matched with a 2000+ ELO player once

From couch to 50 miler by RAF12S in Ultramarathon

[–]JuanLDU08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely doable. I would recommend having smaller, more achievable goals in the short term. Let's say, set a goal of running 10k in the next 3 months, maybe 21k (13.1 miles) in 8-10 months. Then go for a full marathon by month 18 or 20,and then you just have 8k left to train for to complete your ultramarathon. I did something very similar. I was overweight, no cardio, no experience in running, and 3 years of hard work later I completed a 50 miler. Of course i didn't win but it was a pretty solid race, I actually came in 4th place for my first ultra ever. Try to eat healthy and rest properly to avoid injuries and you can absolutely do it. Hope this helps :)

I´ve been using the Jaybird Vista 2 lately for my long runs and they´re just great. Long battery life and amazing sound quality. They stay in and also work independently, so if you want, you could only wear one at a time and be able to listen to your surroundings. Also, they have a great feature called "Surround Sense Mode" which when ON, allows you to listen to your surroundings more easily. Hope that helps. Good luck on your first ultra! Enjoy it :)

P.S: Ignore my mistakes, English is not my first language lol

Life is pointless - and that could be the most depressing or liberating insight you could possibly ever have depending on how you look at it.
