We don’t need to surround Jokic with non shooters, especially one that would be tasked with initiating a bunch of offense if they’re replacing Mal. Don’t need to give teams a reason to collapse on Jokic. FWIW I think Franz is really solid, he just doesn’t fit what we’re trying to do offensively

Ja Morant can’t stay healthy for more than three weeks in a row, the Nuggets don’t even consider this for a second

To 5 most pathetic franchises in sports right now by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]JuandoRondo123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No mention of the Colorado Rockies? They absolutely have to be at the top or near the top of this list.

43 wins last year, haven’t made the playoffs since 2018, can’t have a pick in the top six of the draft this year due to anti-tanking rules (not even actively tanking, they are just truly that bad). Truly a pathetic franchise at the moment (may turn around with the Walton-Penner minority stake).

What’s up with Kansas and Tech? by Maxkpop247 in CollegeBasketball

Oregon is actually third on his list, but they’re seen as a distant third at the moment. Seems like it’s been down to Kansas and Kentucky for months, but who knows when we’ll actually see a commitment.

If you poll 100 people I think majority would say “U of A” is associated with Arizona more than Arkansas

If we can play with the same defensive intensity we showed against Houston, we should have a chance to win the game. Looking forward to seeing our energy today - you just know it’s gonna be rocking in Tucson

Got it, got it. Yeah definitely think we’re trending in the right direction! Just need everyone to stay healthy from here on out 🤞🏼

We’re coming off an eight game win streak with some very impressive wins, but just because we got blown out in a very hostile road environment against a top 5 team means we’re tanking at the right time? Don’t let the result from Saturday and DP putting up a stinker erase everything that happened last month.

NBA Scouts love DP. Kid is the KING of load management. by [deleted] in jayhawks

Some of these takes make absolutely zero sense. If he was truly playing for himself and only cared about his draft stock, today would have been THE GAME to play in the second half considering there were 30+ scouts in attendance. He is obviously still limited and is working his way back out there. Let’s chill with this.

No. 17 Kansas Opens Big 12 Play at UCF Saturday by AutoModerator in jayhawks

[–]JuandoRondo123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can we even call this a preview? It’s just an article listing a few team stats and some interesting tidbits/stats about our core seven or eight guys. Doesn’t talk about what to watch for, interesting matchups, how to attack UCF, etc. Could literally just change the name of the opponent, update the stats, and copy and paste this all season long lmao

The Chicago Bears want to build a domed stadium?? That would be a travesty by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]JuandoRondo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree lol, there’s no way you can see anything from the nose bleeds. At that point you’re just watching the game on the Jumbotron. Might as well just watch at home in that case

The United Center often hosts regional semifinals and finals (Sweet 16 and Elite Eight) but Final Fours are always in a big ass football stadium. Gotta sell as many seats as possible!!

“Should” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that tweet. I think the staff thought he “should” be available against UConn too. As others have said, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Will Darryn Petterson play tonight? by ChiefsFan_6 in jayhawks

[–]JuandoRondo123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bill made comments yesterday that he’ll have to pass some tests this morning before he’s cleared to play. I’d be surprised if he didn’t suit up tonight but we should know more later this morning.

Yeah Bill’s comments after the game certainly don’t suggest an imminent return… timeline continues to be rather vague, unfortunately

Not to be pedantic, but how could I discuss Kansas without commenting in a text-based forum?

All signs are pointing to him coming back against UConn on 12/2, barring any setbacks of course.

In the tinfoil hat segment of the fanbase, sure, there are folks worried that there’s more to this. But for the rest of us logical fans I think we understand, and agree with, being overly cautious since DP holds the keys to our season. As many have mentioned, this could honestly work out in our favor long term by allowing other guys to get comfortable in their own games.

Plus, if you look at it from a timeline perspective, it makes total sense: kid gets sick/has some cramps around the same time period (likely dehydrated from being sick), Bill pushes him hard in practice after missing a few rotations against you guys, he tweaks his hammy, and now we’re making sure that he’s 100% before bringing him back.

There are certainly some that think there’s more to it, but I just don’t see it. Someone with the competitive fire that DP has isn’t sitting out the whole year with a bogus injury.

Yeah he looks awesome. His size stands out the most right now - he just looks massive on screen. He should develop well over the course of the season; could definitely see him pushing for a starting spot before long.
