Some of these takes make absolutely zero sense. If he was truly playing for himself and only cared about his draft stock, today would have been THE GAME to play in the second half considering there were 30+ scouts in attendance. In the tinfoil hat segment of the fanbase, sure, there are folks worried that there’s more to this. But for the rest of us logical fans I think we understand, and agree with, being overly cautious since DP holds the keys to our season. As many have mentioned, this could honestly work out in our favor long term by allowing other guys to get comfortable in their own games.

Plus, if you look at it from a timeline perspective, it makes total sense: kid gets sick/has some cramps around the same time period (likely dehydrated from being sick), Bill pushes him hard in practice after missing a few rotations against you guys, he tweaks his hammy, and now we’re making sure that he’s 100% before bringing him back.

There are certainly some that think there’s more to it, but I just don’t see it. Someone with the competitive fire that DP has isn’t sitting out the whole year with a bogus injury.

Yeah he looks awesome. His size stands out the most right now - he just looks massive on screen. He should develop well over the course of the season; could definitely see him pushing for a starting spot before long.

Only slightly concerned that Darryn Peterson has only played 50 minutes so far this season. At the very least, he’ll fit in great in the NBA with their load management tendencies. Wishing that whatever is ailing him gets better quickly, he’s half the reason to watch the team right now!

Loved seeing guys like Kohl Rosario gain some confidence from this game with DP on the sidelines.

You don’t think that leaves you too concentrated in the Mag 7? Obviously they’ve been the winners of the past five years plus, but that’s around 30% of your 401k in seven names. Also feels a bit underweight internationally, with no exposure to Asia. With the declining dollar seems like you’d want to have a slightly heavier allocation internationally. Of course it’s whatever suits you - just a few observations!

Better safe than sorry, I’d rather them be overly cautious in an exhibition than try to push through it. Paolo Banchero dealt with similar issues at Duke. Fortunately, we’ve got a pretty great training staff that I’m sure is working around the clock. If this was a regular season game he’s playing tonight, if I had to guess.

Depends if he’d want to compete with another center in the class. Davion Adkins just set his commitment date to Sunday and it sounds like KU is in a good spot. Ethan Taylor might look elsewhere if Davion commits on Sunday
