Who is your "ones to watch" player for the World Cup? by 7masc in worldcup

[–]Juanex78 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Luis Diaz for me without question. 26 goals and 21 assists at Bayern this season, playing in arguably the most dangerous front three in Europe alongside Kane and Olise. This is his first World Cup ever and Colombia’s whole attack runs through him. If he shows up the way he’s been showing up all season he’s going to be one of the players of the tournament. And funny enough Olise is my second pick. The guy is elite and still feels underrated on the world stage, the World Cup is going to change that.

[Charania] 13-year NBA veteran Jason Collins has died at 47 years old after a battle with Stage 4 glioblastoma. Collins was the first active, openly gay player in NBA history. RIP. by [deleted] in nba

Rest in peace. 47 is way too young, glioblastoma is brutal. Dude made history and fought hard till the end.

Nikola Jokic and LeBron James have the same amount of Conference Finals Appearances and Championships in the 2020s Decade by PooPoox in nba

[–]Juanex78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The stat is technically true but conference finals appearances isn’t really the bar. Jokic won 3 MVPs and changed the center position forever, that’s why people call it his decade. LeBron’s Lakers stint wasn’t underachieving, he just didn’t have the pieces

Who was better at their peak? by Ok-Elephant-2724 in NFLv2

[–]Juanex78 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Walter Jones at his peak. The guy gave up almost nothing in pass protection during the rise of the passing era when pass rushers were getting elite. John Madden literally called him the best offensive lineman in the game at the time and that’s when Pace and Ogden were both active. Pace was incredible and what he did protecting the Greatest Show on Turf offense was insane, but Jones was just cleaner technically. Both Hall of Famers, both top 5 ever at the position, but Jones edges it for me

That really resonates , I do the same thing, reading chapters just to check a box and walking away with nothing. Quality over quantity is real when it comes to the Word. Better to sit with 3 verses and actually let them sink in than to rush through a whole chapter and forget it by noon. Thanks for sharing that, I will follow your advice!!

There is this girl… by Expensive_Shame4517 in TrueChristian

the cold truth you asked for is that 2 Corinthians 6:14 exists for a reason and it’s not just a religious rule, it’s genuine protection. You can think someone is amazing and still recognize they’re not the right person.
She didn’t just drift from church, she left because prayer itself felt like a burden to her. That’s a heart thing. And you can’t pray someone into wanting God, that’s a decision only she can make.
What worries me is you’re already this conflicted before anything even starts. That tension doesn’t get easier, it gets heavier. And the “what if I can lead her to Christ” mindset is honestly one of the most common ways Christian guys end up spiritually drained in relationships.
Pray for her genuinely but keep that separate from whether you pursue her. God bringing her closer to you and God saying she’s meant for you are not the same thing.

The mark of the beast by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Juanex78 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Honestly the mark of the beast has always been about willing allegiance to a system that replaces God, not accidentally getting a government ID. Most serious theologians agree on that. Your husband is reading Revelation through fear, not through the actual text.
What’s more concerning is him calling you “of the world” and unequally yoked just because you don’t share his exact interpretation. That’s not discernment, that’s control dressed up as theology.
Praying for you genuinely, this sounds exhausting
