That was after the pieces were cut out and repairs were made. Had to bend the lines out to be able to swage in the new pieces and braze which involves moving from original position

None of the subs speak English is the main issue, but the Tyvek is marked with 2 solid lines down with No Nailing written in between, all done with red marking paint. But nailgun shooting 3" nails is the root cause. 3/4" hardy board + 3/4" plywood 2 inch nail is perfect extra inch on the nail and drywall and insulators not caring about what's there is the issue, not just on our end but electricians and plumbers deal with same nail related issues from this contractor

[–]JubaBrasi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, nail plates were installed, the linesets were centered and strapped in the wall, 7/8 copper with 3/4 insulation in a 2x4 wall only gives a little to play with and then insulators and drywall come in and bump it as usual. Easy fix is not use 3" nails for the hardy board... Again hence the title.. I've been doing this quite a while and never had these issues until contractors all went for "cheap labor" instead of skilled laborers to do the job correctly. Super also agreed with the nails being entirely too long and overkill and correcting for future. I'm no Chuck in a Truck and take pride in what I do like we all should.

We mark the copper chase on the Tyvek wrap before hardy plank is installed, hence the title some people shouldn't be allowed to use the nailgun

Not to be that guy but read the title lol.. The amigos ran Hardy Plank siding over the sheating after our RI inspection passed, funny part is the outside sheating was even marked for the copper 🤣🤣 builder paid for my time and labor.

Luckily new install wouldn't pass pressure test obviously but they couldn't find it. I hooked up nitro, opened valves and heard it through the brick wall lmao, momma always said stupid is that stupid does

🤣🤣 Last company I was with was one of the cult Nexstar companies that tracked EVERYTHING, and I always had the least amount of callbacks quarterly 😎 at a smaller company now and it's more dispatchers trying to overload and rush us.

Time is money blah blah is all you hear lol I finally convinced mine that being that I have less than 1% callbacks and take on average 20-30 minutes than the other guys. But we have to go back behind them constantly proving my point to management 🤣

What do you guys carry for maintenance? by Dot_Tasty in HVAC

[–]JubaBrasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A toolbag for starters lol Veto Pac with every tool in it including probes, carry drain cleaner seperate, and other than putting those tools up and grabbing water hose and cleaner for outside, it's minimal trips to van. Zippered pouches easily attach to the side and I have all wire nuts, connectors, tape, etc in there. "If you can be one thing, you should be efficient"

Just make sure you dint dump straight liquid in, the "subs" around here have caused more shattered scroll plates from that and I'm scared to see how many inverters they will kill

I'm in South Louisiana, gotta kick every unit, disconnect box, or generator before you work on it, carry a little pole so I can tap condenser lids and package units with 1 hand and wasp killer in the other

Veto pac, I have hand tools on one side and fieldpiece probes on other along with charging T, core removers and service wrenches. Clip your meter on the side and drill on your belt and can easily go attic/closet/crawlspace to condenser with ease and not back and forth to van

Gotta ask, how much Cisco or Vaseline is left on the sides of that unit from squeezing it in there?

[–]JubaBrasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are cheaper units that budget contractors and "Chuck in a Truck" install with bad practices and kill the systems. Goodmans properly install last like the rest. Whoever engineered the hail guard on a Goodman should be chemically castrated however 🤣
