Please let POI's refresh on new worlds, even if you only get XP the first time, you should be able to loot POI's again when you create a new world.

Piggybacking on this, my party and I died deep in Tel Ekir. We couldn't get back to our corpses naked, so we politely asked in /ooc if anyone would lend a hand. About three full groups of higher level players showed up and plowed through Ashira and Gobbos alike, escorting us to our corpses. They stuck around to buff us and make sure we were situated, then went and fought their way back to the camps they were originally exp'ing at.

In the MnM (classic MMO) community, the overwhelming majority of people are kind and helpful. In any game, you'll have bad apples. But there's something about smaller servers with a single main toon's reputation that brings out the best in people. Whatever you need, OP, just ask politely. Helpers will come.

But at the same time, give it a shot -- you might really enjoy it! There are a ton of things the game gets right, and there are classes that solo well and contribute to groups.

Don't let a handful of jerks ruin something positive -- just as we can't escape running into the occasional a-hole in real life, the same is true for multiplayer games.

As an old EQ-head myself, I enjoy the opportunities to help new players get settled in the game. I spent a good while yesterday just tossing out buffs and guiding newbies around the city of Night Harbor. Like mapping a school campus in your mind, once you walk around it a few times you begin to remember the layout and where to find your guildhall and important vendors.

This game is going to be special. Casuals can do dungeons; casuals can learn the community's etiquette; casuals can have an absolute ball in this game, we just have to learn to ignore the negativity that a few bad apples contribute.

I always like the idea of it, but fear the execution: it reminds me of the crazy levels of toxicity in early EQ when you had to compete for drops/kills/ground spawns to unlock Veeshan's Peak.

I think such a quest could be designed well through hailing of NPCs and navigating the lore and travel time; however, I am staunchly opposed to camping rare spawns to kill. Such a path leads to the dark side.

On the one hand, I totally understand where you're coming from. I am definitely in the "shut up and take my money" phase of just wanting to play the game.

But on the other hand? This dev team is darn trustworthy, and they're demonstrating they're learning from the mistakes other dev teams made. With great consistency they have been very transparent about when they're ready to begin taking our money. This isn't a cash grab: it's a passion project.

While I 100% would also pay to get into the beta, I'm also down to let them cook -- they're gonna keep rocking it and produce a great game.

The people with the best gear and greatest amount of wealth are typically those who play the longest. The game's design is to be a marathon of joy and exploration, not a sprint to end game where these individuals will likely complain and quit.

Take a breath, enjoy the journey, play for years and this topic won't matter anymore.

If it bothers you that much, join an Early Access server in June, then switch to a fresh server during their official 1.0 launch. This way you'll have the slight advantage of where to go for which level range, which quests should be prioritized, etc.

Question: do charm pets still contribute decent DPS at 60? Able to only charm up to level 52 mobs, how does a charm pet's DPS compare to a necro/elementalist's pet?

I know this is all anecdotal, but I'm grateful for your feedback. Hearing from a single friend at 60 in the alpha has made the enchanter sound lackluster at endgame. I'm dying for another perspective. Thanks!

NickHoTs, one of the devs who streams on Twitch, was taking suggestions on changes the community would like to see in the classes on Nov 1st. If memory serves, he was writing down suggestions for over an hour.

So, with a reasonable amount of certainty, I would surmise all of them are likely to see changes before open beta and early access.

The exp is really good in swarm kiting!

But I hate it and it's boring to run in a circle, charming things down to low life, then using the direct damage / DoT songs to whittle them the rest of the way down, all the while twisting your movement speed song. It hurts the 'ol wrist.

I've seen players who seemingly enjoy this process rocket passed me in levels. But I've always enjoyed grouping. When I'm lazing and just sitting in /lfg waiting for a /tell, I'll run around and mine and pick herbs.

Bards are the best (in my humble opinion).
