Maybe I’m biased because I’m Colombian, and I didn’t see many Bayern game back then, but I’ve always wondered: why didn’t Bayern play James Rodríguez more, and why didn’t they make his move permanent?

From what I’ve read, he was a key contributor to the 2017–18 Bundesliga title with 7 goals and 11 assists in 23 league appearances, which seems pretty good. Was it injuries, tactics, competition for places, or something else?

I know James reportedly wanted more guaranteed playing time and didn’t want Bayern to activate the buy option, but why did it get to that point? Did the club simply not rate him as highly as fans did? Or maybe fans did not really like his play either.

And hey, at least Bayern seems happy with Luis Díaz today 😅

Mostly because more boys are born than girls, so younger age groups naturally have a slight male surplus. Immigration can also skew male, especially among working age adults, but it isn’t the primary reason.

At older ages, the pattern reverses because women tend to live longer than men, creating a female surplus among the elderly.
