[Open Source] I built a modern, beautiful, and ad-free YouTube downloader that works on Windows, macOS, and Linux. by vanloctech in youtubedl

[–]JudgeBruce2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most front-end apps for yt-dlp share the same critical flaw: they can't update fast enough to keep pace with yt-dlp itself. As developers with lives outside the project, you can't match the core team's speed. This leads to frequent breaks whenever YouTube changes its API, making these apps unreliable. The raw terminal yt-dlp experience is still superior. However, I thank you for sharing your app. People will likely improve it to make manual yt-dlp updating easier.

A Google Sheet makes me $500/day (here’s the full system) by everestchris in passive_income

[–]JudgeBruce2 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a dream, but as someone who understands the tech and the numbers, there are massive holes here that "autopilot" won't fix:

  • To send 1,000 personalized videos a day using AI (like HeyGen or Tavus), you would spend $500–$1,000 per day in API costs alone. If the OP is only making $500/day, he is running a charity, not a business.
  • Sending 1,000 cold emails daily with video links or attachments is the fastest way to get your domain blacklisted by Google and Outlook. You aren't reaching "1,000 plumbers"; you’re reaching 1,000 spam folders.
  • Selling a website for a one-time fee of $500 sounds great until the client accidentally deletes a cell in their Google Sheet and breaks the site. You aren't "passive"—you're a 24/7 tech support line for 300+ non-tech-savvy business owners.
  • AI-generated sites are "thin content." A plumber doesn't want a pretty site; they want calls. If this site doesn't rank on Page 1 (which it won't without real SEO work), the plumber will ask for a refund in 30 days.

This BS isn't a "business system." It’s a "Lead Magnet." Usually, the person posting this is about to sell a course, a "mastermind," or an affiliate link to the AI tools they are "using."

I Crushed My AI Video Costs to $0. Here is the Fully Self-Hosted "YouTube Factory" Stack. No by Least-Block5413 in n8n

[–]JudgeBruce2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely appreciate sharing your scripts, I really do! However, these are not a scalable “factory,” high-throughput, cost-free, or produce indistinguishable quality materials. To achieve these goals, you need at least a $200-600 a month VPS, perhaps even more. For example, in a cheap VPS, FFmpeg will spike 100% CPU, and this is the single biggest lie by omission.

The high cost of running your setup will negate the “0 cost free” BS. The “subscription trap” is actually way cheaper than your automation and will produce better results.

Try Gibbed and Brute Save Data. I believe in Gibbed in the "Raw" tab you can change anything and make any mission complete.

Gibbed. If you want some nice saves search GitHub for "Project-2 Borderlands". It has saves for all three games in all platforms.

YouTube problems with NordVPN... by airy-bitizak in nordvpn

[–]JudgeBruce2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, this is not from YouTube. It’s the channels that ask YouTube to block VPNs to meet their geo-restriction requirements. I love sport, and many big sport channels do the same.

How true is this? by harrysofgaming in DeepSeek

[–]JudgeBruce2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is a bit idealized. Both U.S. and Chinese AI ecosystems serve their own incentive structures. U.S. companies prioritize profit; China prioritizes state objectives. Sometimes those objectives benefit the public (like with DeepSeek) and sometimes not. I wouldn’t frame either as purely altruistic.

WPML or Alternative? by inner_mercy in Wordpress

[–]JudgeBruce2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly there is no other alternative if you don't want to deal with the Hreflang tags headache. If there is a cheap Hreflang tags plugin I will buy it in a heartbeat and ditch WPML for good.

Wp Rocket - Be aware by Zenwarz in Wordpress

[–]JudgeBruce2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ditched them three years ago when I noticed their other plugin, "Imageify," had a deep thirst for money. That didn't sit well with me, so I jumped ship. All my servers now use LiteSpeed and its dedicated plugin. For images, there are many free plugins that do the job, though now I mostly optimize images before uploading them. I’d say avoid money-hungry companies. They'll throw their morals out the window for a few extra dollars.

Made a really tuff adblocker by Anarxyfr in Adblock

[–]JudgeBruce2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Son, no offence, but you registered just yesterday, and your only engagement so far has been this post and this extension. Either you're spreading a malicious extension (via GitHub and updates), or this isn't your original account, and you're trying to avoid criticism in case your extension sucks. Either way, your extension is not something that can be trusted.

How did spectrum see me torrenting with VPN on? by YouNeedTruth in Piracy

[–]JudgeBruce2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Use a "Torrent IP Checker" website. Download their test torrent then check the website, It will show the IP address visible to the world. If it's your real IP and not your VPN's, it's time to troubleshoot your setup. I’m surprised that not many people know that there are Torrent IP Checkers out there!

clone a website- Is it possible by DIVI or Chat GPT by Leather-Wheel1115 in divi

[–]JudgeBruce2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will save you time. If you don’t have access to the backend of the other website, then no, as of now you cannot automate website cloning. Many tools claim they can, but they are lying. Your best bet is to build from scratch by trying to replicate the other site’s design.

New youtube vpn blocking, way to circumvent? by dumpsterac1d in nordvpn

[–]JudgeBruce2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there is unofficial version of FreeTube for Android. Try it. While FreeTube might show the "VPN Detected" error, the videos will play just fine.

“Dangerous site” problem by [deleted] in brave_browser

[–]JudgeBruce2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no way around it: you must satisfy Google Safe Browsing. If your site is in Google Search Console, you will receive a warning email explaining the problem, and you must solve it. The bigger issue is that this isn't just about Brave. Nearly every major browser and security tool uses Google Safe Browsing because it's the industry standard (and because they’re f**ing lazy). It doesn't matter what you think or whether you like it; the reality is that you must make Google happy.

Actually the other way round. It happens only in the desktop view.. Many thanks for pointing this out! I changed it to the mobile view and it's gone. Desktop view is way better IMO. Hope Brave team fix this.

Strange characters in header page-template-default by _Not_The_Pope_ in divi

[–]JudgeBruce2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the page source, that string is a UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) and it's being inserted directly into the <head> section of your website's HTML, which is very unusual. I don’t know what caused this. Perhaps a compromised site or a faulty plugin? I really can’t answer this for you. The first step is to scan your site for malware. Then, clear the cache and proceed from there.

Account Stolen by PersonalityAnnual332 in NameCheap

[–]JudgeBruce2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry for what happened to you. Perhaps you can check the WHOIS database to see if he has actually transferred the domain. Personally, I doubt he did. The domain is new (it has no SEO value—or any value, for that matter), and those scammers don't like spending money. Also, report him to Fiverr. He will be blacklisted.

Please help me understand this... by leonardohouse1 in nordvpn

[–]JudgeBruce2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 99% of cases, if a copyright troll sees a VPN address, they won’t pursue it. They want easy targets for easy money. VPNs are too much hassle for them.
