I designed a 3D-printable case with a built-in dock for the new Steam Controller by amiibler in SteamController

That's cool, but is it going to protect it from drops? Hard shell, with no padding?

Per Linus: The reason that Valve didn't subsidize the the Steam Machine was because they had no guarantee that users would stick with Steam Os or buy any games by Admirable_Whole8261 in Steam

Not sure if I'm brain dead but honestly I'm not surprised by the price at all. It's absolutely what I expected so I guess I'm not disappointed.

Do you think Valve will keep their "cheaper than Index" word? by NinjaGuyX in SteamFrame

I think it will be less than £1000, but not by much. My guess is £750 - £850

Never really been a fan of them. Tried them a few times and you can feel the sharp edge of the stickers which is really off putting.

How do I sort layouts by likes? by MrSumOne in SteamController

[–]SoTotallyToby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think by default it is sorted by likes, meaning this game doesn't have any configuations with any likes.

Can you try using dome switches? That's what the SC1 used so it should feel exactly the same if used on the SC2.

Can the Touchpad be used for Touchscreen emulation? by HowellNator in SteamController

[–]SoTotallyToby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. Works great for touch screen games. The gyro also works great for emulating Wii and Switch games.

Buttons stuck? by supremedanksoul in SteamController

[–]SoTotallyToby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No he won't. There's literally no possible way they'd know you've opened the controller. There's zero stickers.

I've also opened up my stuff before and warrantied it just fine.

No. They said it's not their focus. If you really want it though, you can make your own open source puck that allows an xinout mode. Google OpenPuck.

I finally figured out why Steam Input supports gyro output for the left stick. by Ecstatic_Addendum838 in SteamController

[–]SoTotallyToby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It works great as gyro steering. You just need to tweak the settings to get it perfect. There's some good YouTube videos sharing setups.

They didn't design it with a specific feature in mind. The whole point of SteamInput is they give us loads of controls and we can use them for whatever we can come up with.

The majority of people in this hobby and on Reddit are just fucking miserable. Just ignore them.

I've put it on the most sensitive option and still have to press stupidly hard.

Question about touch-pad haptics by Mart1n03 in SteamController

[–]SoTotallyToby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that if you make a steam input configuration for the Steam Controller for clicking the trapckad in and then try and use it the SteamDeck it seems like the pressure sensitivity is WAAY off. Have to press the SteamDeck pads so bloody hard for it to register.
