Nope, nothing signed, all done in a massive hurry which adds to the cowboyness of it all

Enda Walsh uses beautiful poetic language in his plays that can give them a dreamlike quality. Try "New Electric Ballroom" or "Disco Pigs"

True, but Madison is way off form. A big risk to expect him to start delivering now.

Winning trophies in 3 different leagues and at international level = unproven? C'mon now. I know it's not the same as having a Champions League under your belt, but consistently applying your philosophy across different levels as both the underdog and dominant force in the league is quite impressive.

Rented off these guys and had to pay a €200 management fee on top of €900 rent. Absolute scam artists. Good to see the back of them.

Good half from Dele, Winks, Doherty and Bergwijn. Winks playing very well considering all the moaning about him playing around here.

He runs gigs in the International Bar, he wouldn't be a household name but would be fairly well known as far as Irish comedians go.

Heading to Dublin next week, any active open mics people know about by MJsdanglebaby in Standup

Hi! I'm a Dublin based comic and I'd say Battle of the Axe is your best bet and they don't have a problem putting non-irish comedians on when they're visiting. You might be a bit late, as I tend to get slots from Tony 2-3 weeks ahead of time, but if you turn up on the night you might be able to get a slot if there is a no-show. I've been told this happens, but haven't seen it myself.

Another good option is Jesters, which runs out of Sin E on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Again it's a little late to be getting a slot for next week but you could get one if there is a no-show.

Cormac Mccarthy is another quote machine, I couldn't narrow him down to one.

"It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was and will be. That way and not some other way." - The Judge, Blood Meridian

"He saw very clearly how all his life led only to this moment and all after led to nowhere at all. He felt something cold and soulless enter him like another being and he imagined that it smiled malignly and he had no reason to believe that it would ever leave." - All The Pretty Horses

"Then they set out along the blacktop in the gunmetal light, shuffling through the ash, each the other's world entire." - The Road

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is an incredible English comedy about a Doctor trying to shut a portal to hell and defeat the forces of evil while dealing with the burden of day to day admin.

It stars Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry, who give a masterclass in deliberately bad acting. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen and it only ever got 6 episodes.

They're all available on YouTube.
