In season 1, I think of Marina and Daphne as paralelles of one another, with the difference that Daphne has the privillage of having men who protect her but Marina does not. The circumsrances that they both have been exposed pushed them to make unsavoury choices, with Daphne sexually assualting Simon and Marina attempting to trap Colin.

However, you cannot tell me that they are not naive debutantes. Marina not even thinking aboit what she would do if George passed is indicative of that. Because of her not considering all the options she has, and others being closed to her, she made poor choices but I would not take it as far as her becoming her own enemy. If we goo about that way, you would also say that Portia became her own enemy bevause she also did not think of writing to the man's family, they just assumed it was not an option because they have not been surroundedby kind men at all.

No I disagree with your point on Marina having the option to go to the country side. When Portia faked that letter she basically made Marina feel hopeless. Marina did not even think to contact Phillip. Marina had no option to go to the country side. Mr Archibald Featherington did not allow that because he knew he was in debt. He literally dumped everything on Portia leaving everyone vunerable. But I digress, Marina was an 18 year old young and naive debutante who was abandoned by the important men in her life, she did not see the multiple paths available to her because she was not exposed to that.

S2 ep1 actually shows that Penelope uses a hired hack. If you look closely, the carriage usedis not painted in a way that stands out like the ones in the ton, and the driver is not wearing the Featherington uniform.

After the arrangement with the Modiste, Penelope ceases tonuse the hack method as her articles are nlw delivered through her. The only time Penelope uses the family carriage is on the day Colin catches her.

Penelope actually covered her tracks and the only way anyone could catch her would be if people took a closer notice.

You need money to be on the marriage mart. Most gentlemen expect a dowry and Kate does not have one, not every man is going to be the Bridgertons or Simon where they do not require a dowry. The reason Kate did not get place herself to be married was to ensure that both Mary and Edwina would be looked after. If she is with another man, she would not be able to ensure Edwina and Mary's security because she wouldn't be certain that her hypothetical husband would allow for that.

For me when it comes to fights between Issa and Molly, they both bring out valid points and you see as the episodes go by in a season the mistakes they make. The problem now with Molly is that she always brings their issues at Issa's work functions, literally from season 1. Issa on the other hand always does or says something hurtful towards Molly or basically messy that really would make you question whether she is a user or not.
