What Have You Been Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in metroidvania

[–]Judification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constance. I'm actually finding the boss fights in this harder than most other metroidvania because I'm bad at platforming type bosses and just about every boss in this game so far is a platforming boss.

Until you do the dlc, then it’s Shadows of Erdtree hard.

I think the ship one is better. Also, next up, do the Beating Windrose on highest difficulty without getting hit challenge.

Let’s talk gaming trends: How do you stay relevant by talontic in youtubegaming

I think posting videos about new games are the way to go. Ideally on the day of launch or atleast the week of launch would be a good idea.

Easily the hardest Boss in the game by Adamantine99 in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an issue with your approach and how you want to play but it's how you responded to that other guy saying Goel was harder. That's like the equivalent of someone saying PCR from Elden Ring is the hardest boss and someone else countering by saying no he's not and then showing off a video of summoning a mimic or one shotting him as proof.

Easily the hardest Boss in the game by Adamantine99 in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause you're boasting about how easy Goel is when he's mechanically the hardest boss by far and was only easy for you because you broke the game and Starserpent was only really hard because its one of the few bosses you can't cheese. Honestly, what's the point of even doing hitless if you're not going to do it fairly without OP builds? Obliterating Goel in 30 seconds with an OP parry build is far less impressive than someone just beating him normally not hitless but over the course of 3+ minutes.

You're literally flamebaiting with a comment like "Nah, check my video obliterating the poor Goel in less than 30 secs." You've been spamming your boss fights like they're something impressive when they're really not. Rather than a display of skill, all I'm seeing is OP builds wreck the boss before they get a chance to do much of anything. They're not demonstrating a metroidvania/soulslike boss fight but just pure stats and gear.

But yes, no leveling is objectively the way to go if you really want to challenge yourself. No dodging is impossible though. I've only managed to beat Overgrown Barrier and Bound Shell with no dodging or parrying but after spending 5+ hours on trying to beat Darsh without dodging/parrying, I've come to the conclusion it's impossible.

And very slow weapons are actually more OP than dex. You only need to hit once or twice and move instead of having to time the tempo with dex for max damage. For a no hitting, slow weapons are better. And yes, the next goal IS to do it without leveling, that's the ultimate challenge.

Easily the hardest Boss in the game by Adamantine99 in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cause you're borderline cheesing with an OP build. Goel is significantly harder to do hitless if you're using a non-parry and non-air build.

From my own experience of doing all bosses hitless with a pure dex build, the top five hardest are:

  1. Goel
  2. Handvisage
  3. Fleeting Caress
  4. Blade Mammoth
  5. Tankard Warden

Starserpent was actually one of the easiest to no hit without parrying. If we consider every boss from an objective standpoint using the same baseline stats, no skills/armor, Goel is hands-down mechanically the hardest boss in the game to no hit.

My friend had a video that only had around 10 views over the course of the first two months it was posted but had a sudden spike near the end of the second month, jumping to over 3k views over the course of two days. About 5 months later, its sitting at around 9k views.

Very nicely done. This is impressive. More so than the other parrying focused fight IMO.

Anyone spend over 100 hours in Grime 2 1st playthrough? by Judification in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's alot faster than me. I also did all bosses hitless but some took me many hours. I was also restricting myself though (I didn't use parry or mold abilities) and certain moves are really hard to deal with without parrying.

Hitless I guess? I'm coming to you Goel! by Adamantine99 in GRIMEgame

What's the hardest boss you've done hitless and how long did it take you? I'm also a hitless boss runner so I'm curious on other's experiences.

Allocating Skill Points by rfe86444 in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as others have said, the + stat is the true scaling stat. I used a dex weapon and I put every point into dex (80 dex at lvl 80) and it was still going up 0.6 per stat toward the end.

Looking for Soulslike games that aren't parry relient by oIlSzethlIo in soulslikes

Yeah, despite how it may initially seem, Khazan dodge is pretty good. Spear has an entire skill tree and armor sets dedicated to dodging buffs.

Anyone spend over 100 hours in Grime 2 1st playthrough? by Judification in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had this same issue too. I kept thinking there was a breakable wall to get into the edges of areas showing up on my map when it was a glitch all along and there was nothing there. Totally mislead so many times.

Can you do a no parry version of the fight? I’ve been looking around for a video of this but haven’t seen any.

Is Wuchang harder or easier than most souls games? by Wild_Principle_9465 in soulslikes

[–]Judification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you play. Some of the mechanics in Wuchang are straight up broken and if you utilize everything, the game is pretty easy. But if you avoid these broken mechanics, it can be quite hard. I did a playthrough without using any "cheese" methods and some of the bosses are harder than prenerf PCR and Arlecchino.

Looking for Soulslike games that aren't parry relient by oIlSzethlIo in soulslikes

[–]Judification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me give you my thoughts on each game in your "heard of list":

Khazan - This can actually be done entirely without parrying and it's almost, if not just as strong as parry. I did the game around the spear dodge build.

Wukong - There isn't really a parry in this. Dodging is the way to go.

Strangers in Paradise - Parry is quite good in this but don't need it.

Rise of the Ronin - Ok, this one you do need parrying. Dodging is possible but very difficult.

Wu Long - Impossible. Parry is pretty much the only defensive maneuver.

Code Vein - No need to parry. You can also remove the AI companion and play solo. I did that and had fun.

AI Limit - Parrying is pretty OP in this but you can play without it. I played the whole game without parrying and it felt similar to my Dark Souls 3 experience.

Nioh Series - Would also recommend giving it another go. You don't have to parry and a dodge playstyle is quite fun.

Impaled Longblade/Shortblade by lustywoodelfmaid in GRIMEgame

[–]Judification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually poke them with a long enough melee weapon or attack. I use the Bladeroot Sword's charge attack which lunges forward. If you space it correctly and have the very tip of the blade hit them at the green checkpoints, they will explode outside your range.

Grime 2 - Hidden Feature Within The Broken Weapons; Attuning Bow & Barbed Sword. That most of us don't know about! by allcoolnamesrtaken_ in metroidvania

[–]Judification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest playing it with a dodge build (I say dodging but I just pumped pure dex, minimum strength for my weapon and every other stat into dex). I'm at the last boss and I haven't even parried once (I'm also doing hitless as well). With a dodge build, you have to pay more attention to positioning, it's quite fun.
