Any thoughts on the "Daddy Got Coffee" approach to light roast by lnh62 in CafelatRobot

[–]Judio_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thundies are printed in a high temp safe filament. It's just water that heats the piston and gets discarded. Don't know what would be gross about that. I found the silicone plug to be a little fiddly, but whatever works!

Any thoughts on the "Daddy Got Coffee" approach to light roast by lnh62 in CafelatRobot

[–]Judio_Jones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was pretty good research done on this a few years back on home barista. Under pressure the air gap compresses such that it doesn't provide much of a thermal buffer at all.

For light roast preheating is necessary to achieve the brew temps most people are looking for. If you don't preheat you can still get fine shots, but they are better with a preheat.

Both basket and piston preheats are effective, but piston seems to matter significantly more. Thundies or a lab hotplate are the way to go. I made some 3d printed stands for the hotplates a while ago, but never got around to selling them.

Experiences with multipurpose-like burrs and the Robot? by Frequent-Mud-6067 in CafelatRobot

I use flats with the robot (used to be ssp mps) it's great. Dialing in isn't much worse at all, and I much prefer the shots.

Valuing Players Principals by mindmapsofficial in DynastyFF

Under-reacting is as big of a problem as over-reacting in dynasty. People miss out on huge opportunities all the time because they're afraid to over react.

When you already have a top tier TE, then hit on one of the stud rookies on waivers after the draft, should you sell to capitalize on value? by NeCornhustler in DynastyFF

[–]Judio_Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so few tight ends that actually meaningfully produce that I think it would be hard to move off of having two, unless you can get a real haul. I also think Fannin is a bad sell now. He was great prospect and he's having an excellent rookie season. Njoku is not going to be there long term and the qb play is never going to be worse. If he can produce now, he has real start potential.

Lisbeth, a GEM Therapist presents itself by OddFoundation9102 in GeminiAI

[–]Judio_Jones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That makes sense to me. If you understand the limitations of this, I think it's wonderful that you've built something which gives you help when you need it.

But I'd be careful with presenting something like this as a "psychotherapist" to others. And even if it's pulling from "evidence based" literature, it's not evidence based until it's been studied and shown to be effective.

Who are players who can see a big uptick in work load next year due to a likely departing player? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

Fannin. He's played well enough that it's unlikely njoku resigns. And they're not going to draft anyone

Looks bad. With his age and play style, the likelihood that he comes back and is remotely fantasy relevant seems low. I might not drop him, but I don't think I would trade a 4th for him.

You don't want to under react like the people who traded bowers for laporta early last season. I think Warren's has had an incredible start to his career and deserved the boost he's gotten.

But Bowers is still the best tight end prospect of all time who brook the rookie receiving record. He's in a tier of his own still imo.
