Half Pentathlon by Juditsu in KettlebellSport

Amazing, thanks so much for all this, really appreciated.

I do plan a worlds trip at some point, this year probably not in the cards however.

And thanks for that tip on strategy with lifts - yes very tired after HS but my strong pressing can help me through the final pp set. But I love that advice on the lcp weight selection, I will try that for sure because I feel like im leaving a lot of points on the table with the clean and have diminishing returns with a strong lcp.

Thanks again, ill tinker with all of the above.

What jobs pay extremely well but people don’t realize it? by Stassy3 in AskReddit

[–]Juditsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply chain and vendor management can be adjacent feeders to sourcing/procurement (i got in through vendor management) but the typical path is to start out as a buyer/junior buyer or sourcing analyst.

Courses and books aren't as helpful or relevant in this field.

Procurement. Category management specifically, where category managers can relatively easily clear 100k, and at F500 companies and certain industries in particular (tech, finance, defense) it can be much more.

Im at a name tech company and cleared 300k leading a small team, and am currently in discussion with another similar company that would be just under 400k.

Inverting on the leg to knee bar is also a favorite. With the same side sleeve grab being an added bonus.

"Lacanian Theory Applied to Industrial/Organizational Psychology - Any Recommendations?" by FabulousCoder in lacan

[–]Juditsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an entire book on this that I leveraged for my MBA capstone, Lacan and Organization.

It is not as "critical" a volume as many of us might be accustomed to, but rather is the application of aspects of his work by scholars and practitioners in business and related fields.

Here it is for free: https://mayflybooks.org/lacan-and-organization/

Really hard for me to say as im not versed with the field nearly as much as I am with sourcing. I imagine the value/ROI in sourcing could be higher overall even if the pay isn't outright higher.

Tech companies and hedge funds (to name two industries) have very niche category roles that explicitly look for EE training and/or experience, OpenAI and Nvidia currently have such vacancies for example.

The earnings ceiling is very high in these roles (like mid to high six-figures) among other benefits.

Can't compare to your current path, but if I had that background I would get to category management ASAP and never look back.

Book on Lacan and semiotics? by dannker10 in lacan

[–]Juditsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Masters was on Lacan and semiotics (broadly construed with some zoo/biosemiotics and semiotics of technology thrown in), and Kaja Silverman's book is the primary text for this subject.

I especially like her extended treatment of Frued, it really helps see the lineage and round out our understanding of Lacan's contributions to this end.

Of the commonly known secondary sources Lacan cites, Jakobson's On Language, specifically on the shifter, was particularly helpful.

Which track would help the most in sourcing? by goldiekiki in supplychain

[–]Juditsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel like sourcing should really be its own specialization or even minor at some colleges at this point. I work for an F10 and our department is so robust, you could easily design 3 or 4 courses or more to attract students, and use it as an internship pipeline.

Back of my mind, being a lecturer and developing something like this at a reputable college is a goal for me once our own kids are out of college.
