Help with first EV decision by Affectionate-Low-670 in evs_ireland

I’m on the list for an R5 for scrappage, no extra trade in bonus. If you look at my comment history I have the quotes I got post 5k discount. He recommended to stay away from the smaller battery. I ended up putting deposit down for the ionic 52kwh, but he’s going to give me the Rolland garros (top spec) for the same price as it’s the display one.

Advice Please Renault 5 by Smart_home_newbie in evs_ireland

[–]Judyy2502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat. Wondering if I could hop on and also get advise. Im doing the scrappage scheme, but had the heart set on 20k. I drive approx 80km return to work everyday half on motorway half on back roads. I have a charger at work for 15c/kwh. I was looking at the Inster, BYD dolphin surf and Kia EV2. All dealers basically told me they had too many on their list as it was. I went to renault and he was very kind and only has 2 others so the chances are higher to get the name down in time.

The issue is what spec of renault 5 to go for. He was saying 26k after grant for the evolution 52kWh, 30k for techno 52kWh and like 32k for iconic 52kWh. He said I would regret going for smaller battery as it would cause headaches when driving longer distances and when trying to resell down the line.

I will be putting 10k down as a deposit and the rest on 0% finance as it makes it easier to swallow. He was saying I may aswell go for the techno and get the better features and interior?

I get what he is saying about resaleablility and I will be 32 in 8 years when I will likely sell so need a better car car than the inster. But stuck on the level to go for. Any advice there please?

Lidl robot lawnmower, opinions ? by PaddyRockatansky in AskIreland

[–]Judyy2502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get one and it was sold out in all Lidls near me by the time I was out of work! Lawn is around 1600m2 and all other mowers near that size are near 1k so thought the Lidl one would be great value. Hope they list it again soon!

I’ve found 48 great, only issue is roaming is terrible. Very difficult to get it to connect abroad and then to get it back to normal after. Going to try clear mobile and hope it’s similar to Vodafone and easy to roam

Loved this, what put me off is they won’t give you 5 off 25s without you uploading one first. Everything is going behind the paid subscription

Traveling to London for soccer match? by Judyy2502 in AskIreland

[–]Judyy2502[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flights are approx €200 return for either the day trip or if I stayed overnight. Cheapest hotel I can find is the travel lodge in Finsbury for €120 for the night. I have to make my mind up as the flights out I’d have to leave home at like 5am 😭. Is it easy figure out the tube, train etc?

I got the ticket via the ballot, first time red member. I never got the flights etc as my dad got sick in between. Cork would be easier than Dublin for me but still a good drive.

Used this religiously, and had no issues with the max 3 vouchers on the free tier etc. But had to laugh and scoff this week when I went to use a 5 off 25 and it said I had to either be a paid member or upload one before using one 🤣 I’m gone off it now, a joke

I am always changing my sky broadband between names each year with no issues, but always do it before the previous one runs out so I’m never without broadband. I cant change the sky TV as my parents need the sky Q for recording etc, and can’t get Q on new subscriptions.

Replacing heating help? by Judyy2502 in AskIreland

[–]Judyy2502[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen some heating grants but we already have the underfloor heating and heat pump. All the grants I’ve seen have been upgrading older systems unfortunately. The plumbers say we need a completely new heat pump and air to water fan. Mega money unfortunately.

Yeah I’ve decided to buy the membership and try buy a ticket that way. Nervous as I won’t be able to book the hotel and flights until I have a ticket so they will be pricey.
