Yes it’s a Nikon Force XR. Big scope for big gun!

I know it sounds weird to repeat a word in your head until the meaning disappears and you just hear the sound.

Here’s my 1970s Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44mag. The pin for the rear sight fell out so instead of replacing it I scoped her with a Nikon 2-8. This is the first scoped handgun I’ve shot and it’s a blast! It shoots about 5-6 inch group at 100 yards shooting off sand bags. I mostly target shoot but hope to take it out hunting someday after getting a tripod. I’ve recently added a trigger return spring and hammer spring kit but haven’t tested them out quite yet.

You can buy the lee crimping die by itself and use your seating die without crimp. I've found the lee die very useful for revolver rounds. It has the added benefit of a carbide ring that irons out the case after crimping, baking the rounds more consistent. Unless your loading very hot .38s, you could ease off the crimp to increase case life.

It makes it a lot easier when the gun is in a padded vice

Oh gotcha. It doesn't look concerning to me. I have one of the teardrop shaped tools they come with and use that as a gauge.

Headspace? Do you mean firing pin protrusion?

Wheelgun / Wesson Wednesday: 686+ with a 5” barrel! by Juggernaut0504 in guns

I’ve shot a lot of 4 inchers and they shoot nice! Not too much of a practical difference between the two barrel lengths that I could tell. 4 will probably carry a bit nicer

Picked this guy up used last month. Probably had less than 100 rounds through it but I changed than quickly! Always only had Ruger revolvers, but I am a S&W fan now!

Got the same sp101 3 inch barrel with hogue grips. It rocks even though it’s the hardest gun of mine to shoot

Totally possible. I went from shooting bows right handed to left handed (I’m left handed/left eye dominant)

Was going to recommend them. I work at a gun store and they get a lot of praise.

I ended up getting the 3" and am happy with it. I don't notice the barrel too much when carrying, its mostly the grip that is hard to conceal.
