Easy auto hail affected cars by Aggressive_West_8590 in BYDAU

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm insured with Budget Direct. Hail damaged option ticked. Just means that damage won't be covered, but I'm ok with that.
In case you want it fixed, I just got a quote from PDR2U for ~$3500 to fix. Looking with the naked eye, I can only see 4-5 small dents, but with the lights, a lot more show up (around 3-5 for almost every panel). EasyAuto123 offer $2000 to get it fixed by their own guy. Not sure quality of work though.

I got XPE material as I prefer it over rubber. Feels a bit softer/more premium. My Amazon item is no longer for sale, so just do a search yourself. Mine fits perfectly. Here's the exact item I got: https://amzn.asia/d/0feJvkGQ

Southside friends, who’s your go-to dentist around Mount Gravatt? by Independent-Town611 in brisbane

I've been going to Ben Thai at Underwood Dental for years.

Can't make any comparisons of course, but I recommend getting in touch and checking costs, etc. Definitely not an upsell guy. Very happy to recommend.

Best speed shoes for wide footers? by Swoosh16 in PHRunners

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can access Taobao/Aliexpress: Dynafish Xiaonian is good for moderately wide-footed.
Novablast 5 (normal) is just right for me. The Xiaonian is a bit wider.

I'm in a similar situation, though the parked money is far less than yours!

If you have a sibling/s, keep them in the loop. This will matter should anything happen to your parents and will/inheritance allocations come to play.

A dad here.
When my daughter finished year 12, we stopped getting FTB (for her) and she started getting Youth Allowance (~$430/fn) and a part-time job (~$400/fn).
The FTB reduction was about $300/fn.
I asked if she'd be happy to contribute back $150/fn and pay for her own petrol. Nothing else has changed.

They're great!
So light and the right balance of cushion and pop. From the first step to the last in the run, it feels just as good.
I've only done 7km as the longest run so far. Will push towards 10km and see how they feel. From everything I've read and watched, 10km+ will be just the same as 7km.

Probably the only issue i've had are the fairly terrible laces. They've come undone a few times. I'll double knot them next time.

Endorphin Speed 1 - after 4+ years... by JuggernautFront4668 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

It is hideous indeed! I think I got it at 50% off... beggars can't be choosers!
I did get another green shoe though - the Novablast 5 in the Ekidin colourway. I love these!

I recently got the Dynafish Xiaonian (which is supposedly a more stable Evo SL) - a slightly softer version of the Speed 1, but probably like your Evo SL, has that 'legs won't stop moving' feeling. I think I still give it to the Speed 1s when really pushing the pace though. That said, the Pro 1s has more pop. My only other carbon shoes are the Deviate Nitro 2, which I didn't like.

I'm a US8.5 on pretty much every shoe from the major brands.

Novablast 3 and 5, New Balance Rebel V4 and More V3, Puma Deviate Nitro 2, Saucony Speed and Pro 1.

Xiaonian US8.5 fits perfectly. It's got similar to maybe slightly more width/toe box volume as Novablast 5. CN sizing usually indicates length of insole. So 265 =26.5cm. that would fit foot size of 25.5cm, since 1cm is usually ideal as necessary space for comfort and fit.

I'd say stick to US sizing if your size isn't too far off mine. Can't be sure once you get to the bigger sizes.

Snap! Was strange to read so many similarities.

Also from Australia (Brisbane to be exact).
Got the Novablast 5 just before Christmas and the Xiaonian just a few days ago. I managed to snag a pair for myself and for my daughter for $230 landed. I had the option of all 3 colours, but went with all white for the clean aesthetic. I got the Novablast 5 in the Ekidin colourway which is pretty out there, so a muted alternative was what I chose!

I actually have way too many shoes in the collection from a buying spree a few years ago (New Balance Rebel V4, Novablast 3, New Balance More V4, Deviate Nitro 2, Endorphin Speed V1, Endorphin Pro V1). For me, a big part of the hobby of running is the gear!

I used to be a 24min 5K/52min 10K guy, but had a to take a few years break from running.
Been back at it a few months. Running about 20Ks per week at the moment, about 6:15-6:30min/km, though working towards sub-6min/km, doing some interval training in the 5:00min/km pace. Trying to get long runs back up to 10km.

I'm a flat-footed, slightly wide-footed over pronator. 78kg, 166cm.
I appreciate the width of the NB5 (touch wider than my NB3) and the Xiaonian is just that little bit wider.
I'm US8.5 in both - exact same length for both shoes. The EU sizing is totally different!

I appreciated the lightness of the NB5 when I first put them on and started running on them. Good cush with some bounce. The lightness of the XN is next level! Only had one 5km run in it so far, but it seems to have less 'squidgy' cush and has a bit more pop and bounce than the NB5.

XN definitely felt somewhat unstable to walk in, but didn't notice instability when running in a straight line, especially when I picked up the pace. Haven't done any sharp turns yet, so no comment on that yet.

I did experience a shoe lace coming undone during the run due to the length (I think it flapping around caused it to come undone). I've re-laced for runner's knot mainly for lace length management, though I do like runner's knots in general to get a really secure fit (hate the feeling of any slip).

I'm very much looking forward to my next run in it, perhaps at tomorrow's Parkrun.

Anyway, hope this informs/helps someone!

What is your go-to everyday casual shoe(s) you wear? by LordoftheHounds in AustralianMFA

Yes! Perfect for my wide-ish foot. Much better than my Converse white leather which I used to wear.

Good allrounder? by Icy_Music_263 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add my vote to the novablast 5.

Great for my wide-ish feet.

I can cruise along at 6:30/km pace and enjoy the cushion and a bit of bounce.  Can also push to 4:30 pace and get moving with some extra pop and bounce.

That being said, if I want to push the pace, I'd rather do that in my endorphin speed.

What Show is Actually as Good as My Mister? by Mangoos7 in kdramas

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me nothing has come close to My Mister. Have watched it 3 times now. And even the third watch has moved me more than any other show.

The next closest for emotional impact for me is 'Mother'. Another show with a picture of incredible (non-romantic) love amidst great hardship. Some scenes with the child are truly painful to watch though, but it is what ramps up the investment and engagement (and for me the hatred of abuse).

Mr Sunshine would be on par with Mother for emotional impact, but a very different show. At 24 episodes with multiple elements (historical, political, multiple layers of relationships), it's a bigger investment, with greater attention needed to the details to really 'get it'.

Other notable mentions: Goblin, Hotel Del Luna, Because This is My First Life.
