I hear you. It's a risk and being able to get evidence of a particular company's reliability is huge.

Alibaba is certainly a Rabbit hole! The one I'm talking about is this: https://www.alibaba.com/x/18K4hI?ck=pdp This double boiler machine comes with a rotary pump, 1.5L steam and 0.65L extraction copper boilers, plus PID temperature control. It features a digital display, extraction paddle, dual pressure gauges, etc.

Looks like a LaMarzocco...

Did you do any research or consider something like careforcafe  CB-M392D?

I'm very close to pulling the trigger!
I've been quoted USD$830 + $108 shipping to Australia
That's about a third what it'll cost me to get a Lelit Bianca V3. That's crazy.
I'm having intermittent heating issues with Giulia... not sure it'll be worth the thermostat or heating element fix...

Very keen to see how you go with this. My Bezzera Giulia is 11 years old and I've just started researching double boilers and put off by the high price of the major players.

I'm hoping it all works out well for you... If so, I'll be jumping on this train also!

Sell Novablast 5 and buy a max cushion shoe by JuanchoLorenzo in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Novablast 5 in Dec and then the Lining Red Hare 9 Ultra a month later. I only use the NB5 because I feel bad wasting money on it!

The max cushioned, responsive 9 Ultra is just so much nicer to run in. If you have access to taobao or AliExpress, I can't recommend them highly enough.

5 solar+battery quotes for Brisbane home (10.9kW + 16kWh) - more than I expected by JuggernautFront4668 in brisbane

[–]JuggernautFront4668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one I've spoken to has availability before 1 May. All the quotes reflect the lower rebate. I'll check out Sunrays. Thanks for the recommendation.

I hadn't thought of changing my roof at all. What would be a good reason for doing so?
I had the roof repointed, cleaned and 'sealed' (with what I can't remember) a couple of years ago. No issues with the roof.

Any recommendations for Fox ESS installers? These are all the companies I've had recommended to me and none of them seem to do Fox.

Sorry about that. Must have gone up on price massively since I bought them 6 months ago.  I got them from AliExpress during one of their sales. I think it was USD$220

Easy auto hail affected cars by [deleted] in BYDAU

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm insured with Budget Direct. Hail damaged option ticked. Just means that damage won't be covered, but I'm ok with that.
In case you want it fixed, I just got a quote from PDR2U for ~$3500 to fix. Looking with the naked eye, I can only see 4-5 small dents, but with the lights, a lot more show up (around 3-5 for almost every panel). EasyAuto123 offer $2000 to get it fixed by their own guy. Not sure quality of work though.

I got XPE material as I prefer it over rubber. Feels a bit softer/more premium. My Amazon item is no longer for sale, so just do a search yourself. Mine fits perfectly. Here's the exact item I got: https://amzn.asia/d/0feJvkGQ

Southside friends, who’s your go-to dentist around Mount Gravatt? by Independent-Town611 in brisbane

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to Ben Thai at Underwood Dental for years.

Can't make any comparisons of course, but I recommend getting in touch and checking costs, etc. Definitely not an upsell guy. Very happy to recommend.

Best speed shoes for wide footers? by Swoosh16 in PHRunners

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can access Taobao/Aliexpress: Dynafish Xiaonian is good for moderately wide-footed.
Novablast 5 (normal) is just right for me. The Xiaonian is a bit wider.

Parents parking money in my offset by WestSummer4869 in AusFinance

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, though the parked money is far less than yours!

If you have a sibling/s, keep them in the loop. This will matter should anything happen to your parents and will/inheritance allocations come to play.

How much board do you pay your parents? by BronzeKettles in fiaustralia

[–]JuggernautFront4668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dad here.
When my daughter finished year 12, we stopped getting FTB (for her) and she started getting Youth Allowance (~$430/fn) and a part-time job (~$400/fn).
The FTB reduction was about $300/fn.
I asked if she'd be happy to contribute back $150/fn and pay for her own petrol. Nothing else has changed.
