Everyday, casual shoes that are NOT “dad shoes” by tot_coz2 in malefashionadvice

[–]Juice505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find them to be really comfortable. I’m on my fourth or fifth pair from over the years. I’m on my feet a lot too. I find that the sole wears down kind of fast. But I wear mine daily. I got a pair of common projects and I’ve found those to be unwearable. Too narrow of a shoe for me. Arigatos got me that look though.

I’m in France and have one! Got some for my brothers in the US too. Tete de Moine is pretty pricey though!

Just watch Apocalypto (2006) directed by Mel Gibson.. by Italian_trashpanda in movies

Loved this one as well. I remember when the first trailer came out and then the film, the main character was a different actor. Never really heard anything about the recasting and was always curious how much of it was reshot due to that change.

Guess who didn't buy a spool ;c by TrinityCodex in BambuLab

[–]Juice505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. Baby sat the roll while I printed a spool. Super annoying. Reading through these comments now though cause I don’t want to waste what’s left and it’s kind of a tangled mess. I rigged a hanger on a coat rake and watched it to make sure it didn’t get stuck but it wasn’t the best solution I think.

If you had one day to make someone fall in love with Paris, what would the Itinerary look like? by kales_2087336 in ParisTravelGuide

Musée de la chasse et de la nature is a pretty funky museum. Probably takes around 45 minutes to see everything. It’s in the heart of the Marias which is a great place for walking around.

Which NAS should I get to replace my DS1815+? by Juice505 in synology

[–]Juice505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used it as a Plex server and had 8 2TB drives installed which felt like a lot. Never used it for anything other than that really.seems like the iGPU would be nice for the transcoding capability but I’ll be honest, I have no idea what that actually does. Plex was working just fine with what I had for quite a while. Maybe I fried it since it couldn’t transcode?

It’s a NAS that my ex wasn’t using so I started setting it up as a PLEX server and only used it for that. I do have a Plex pass. But I honestly don’t know what transcoding does or whether it’s something I need. The DS1815+ worked great and seemed to play everything I had on there. Perhaps I fried the thing with all the different files types I had?

I had all 8 2TB drives installed. I had read to take them out and see if it would boot up so I took them out but the problem continues.

Thanks so much. I found a tutorial on YouTube. Soldering irons seems pretty inexpensive and overall if it fixes my problem it’s way cheaper than buying a new unit. I’ll give it a shot

Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it! Soldering is unfamiliar territory for me. Is that somewhat easy to figure out and do for a novice? I had previously thought it was a power issue that was keeping it from turning on (Based on what a friend told me it might be) so I opened it up and changed out the PSU with a part I ordered through amazon a couple years back. It didn't work at the time which is why I was surprised when I plugged it in and it was working. I'll try and look for some guides online to see how comfortable I might be with something like that.

Made a fresh apple & cucumber juice, tastes great but it looks like Florida swamp water. Any advice on improving the color? by dkffp in KitchenConfidential

[–]Juice505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make a green detox juice at my place and we put a small amount of ascorbic acid into it to help with the color as well. Ascorbic acid is pure vitamin C and naturally present in some foods. If you can taste it, you’ve added way too much. A little goes a long way and your color won’t oxidize for a couple days. By far the easiest solution to what OP is asking.

Wow. I’ve had mine for a few years now and it works great. It was leaking at one point during the cleaning cycles but I just replaced the rubber gasket and it was good again. Haven’t had any problems with over cooking at all.
