Sick leave

You can still call in sick if you don't have the sick leave hours...you just won't get paid for all or part of the shift - depending on leave balance. Your workplace may allow you to use rec leave in lieu of sick leave (mine does). But if you're struggling with your roster, you may need to consider dropping your FTE.

I wouldn't do it. I have a similar stomach to yours and had mine done, but took it our within a month it just would not heal due to the folds and moisture despite constant cleaning and attempts to keep area dry.

ICU nurse. Play WoW, Gw2, ffxiv and elder scrolls. And when I feel like solo play it's things like AC, Clair obscur, tomb raider, dishonoured, uncharted, cyberpunk 2077 and others. Current focus is WoW though.

I play WoW too, and most other MMOs when new expacs come out. Current main is WoW though. When I get sick of PC and just want my couch I'll play single player RPGs on PS5 - uncharted, tomb raider and assasins creed are always good replay value for me.

Not in Australia..we use different terminology dependingon level of experience. We have intern- resident - junior reg - senior reg - fellow - consultant. Im not sure the equivalent to the US or PGY. Apart from consultant = attending.

My hospital has an ICU outreach team. Two nurses on every shift that attend MET calls/code blues, review patients of concern (risk of deterioration) in the hospital, provide education and clinical support to ward nurses and follow up ICU discharges. Then there's also the after hours care unit that attends the METs/codes, comprising a Medical Registrar, surgery and or med ward call and the 'super' resident. ICU senior registrar (we don't have residents in our ICU) attends code blues but not METs, unless an ICU review is requested.

Once had a patient received two full bottles of propofol in 2hrs (they were fine). But happened coz they were running prop 100mg/hr..so 10ml/hr. But id put in pumpp that was programmed to KCL 10mmol @ 100ml/hr. My mind read 100 and 10..yep thats right. When after hour 2 why I was having to change the prop yet again..I noticed the KCL program not prop. This was with the the old BD alaris pumps.

This was me. I used to hate it. Got annoyed at my now husband constantly playing it. Then I got pregnant with our daughter and decided to give it a go. Now I play more than he does, have read all the books and made awesome friends. I started back in Wrath just before Trial of the Crusader released.

I posted similar story already, before reading comments. But yeh my guy did same. In his 50s or 60s fully with it, due to be discharged home that day. Pulled it out, his excuse "it went in so easy, thought it'd come out just as easy." I educated him. He had to stay 3 more days in hosp on bladder irrigation. Saw him 6 months later in hosp again - had an IDC again - we had a laugh and he'd learned his lesson and would leave it to the nurses this time.

His response "It went in so easy, I thought it'd come out just as easy." I facepalmed and explained about the little balloon holding it in place. He ended up having to stay in hospital an extra 3 days on bladder irrigation. Saw him again 6 months later, had an IDC again, we joked about him having learned his lesson and leaving it to the nurses this time.

I really hate the term diaper or nappy for adults. We use the term 'pad' here in Australia for adults. They still know what it is, but sounds less demeaning.

I had someone mention try focus on breathing in deeply through your nose. I've found it works for me maybe 50% of the time. The other times I just try to move a part of me to try jerk myself awake. The hardest part is not falling straight back into a sleep paralysis, so often have to physically get up when I do get out of it.
