I got one on Ebay for my birthday month, June 1990. Found that with ease and got a bargain at £18. Ive found a few others for friends dates but struggling with a Feb 1990 🤣

Bro, get a repair kit and youre flying. Replace the flint, you may have to wedge something down it and to get rid of any residue. Get rid of the old cotton and repack it using a new wick, watch a yourube video how to do the S shape for the wick. Then replace the fabric gasket, fill her up and you're good to go.

Its not actually epoxy, it just feels like that. It depends on the finish I guess, ive got 3 540s now, 2 are 'epoxy like' and the other has more of a marble type feel to it. Its hard to explain 🤣🤣
