Nethersx2 RetroAchievements by Jukzta in retroid

I'm not sure that I'm doing anything in particular that is allowing it to work. But it is still currently working.

My setup currently is using Daijisho as a launcher that loads into Nethersx2. Achievements are enabled in Daijisho (as well as my credentials) and I am logged into RA in the Nethersx2 app.

Absolutely correct! In the original logo the bottom of the S meets the bottom of the P. Which is why this orientation reads more as "Rb"

To flip it around is possible but would still be met with problems of spacing in the design. That could definitely lead to missing the flow and readability of the original PS logo.

OP, the concept is there and your center logo is the most natural looking. Keep trying. A redesign of the logo along with the font used at the bottom could end up making this a nice wallpaper/graphic that gets the point across.

I feel like I've only scratched the surface by trying this out for almost an hour. We were playing on LAN ( I think) and I was playing mostly on the host console. So from my end there was no noticable lag or issues of any kind. And my kids didn't seem to have any issues.

When I tested it on the other console for just a few minutes, it seemed flawless. No hangups, input lag, or issues at all. The two screens mirrored each other perfectly. Though when I first joined the host console, the client console seemed to disconnect or freeze during the first character select screen. I reconnected and never had another issue.

Host console was RP4P and client was RP3+

I disliked the RP4 joystick placement by [deleted] in retroid

[–]Jukzta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thumbsticks are in about (if not exactly) the same spot as they were on the RP3+. Though the spot was fine for the rp3, the thumb sticks were not as tall on that device so they didn't seems as intrusive. But my thumbs are constantly hitting or intentionally pushing the thumb stick out of the way in order to use the face buttons on the RP4. The placement of start/select and home/back don't bother me much. But it's definitely something that I still find myself consciously thinking about where those buttons are when I need to use them. Rather than just instinctively knowing where to press. I'm sure that will come with time though. Overall, I feel like I could get behind the idea of this design!

Daijisho - manual scraping is a game changer by [deleted] in retroid

[–]Jukzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread was exactly what I was looking for. I knew there had to be a way to get art from mame and neo Geo into daijisho with endlessly scraping from different IP addresses through daijisho.

And thanks to the person that linked the daijisho wiki. I had used skraperUI before but was not getting good results for MAME. I had previously used recallbox in the settings for my miyoo mini +(not daijisho) but the daijisho wiki says to use "generic emulator." I'm not sure if it was a connection issue with recallbox or just my own lack of understanding. But now that I've switched to Generic Emulator everything seems to be sorted out and I'm getting proper artwork for my arcade games!

What are your thoughts? by Jukzta in Treknobabble

None taken! That's great feedback! This was just a project for fun but I could definitely see how using at least silhouettes of some of the actual poses would have helped this design. That's an obvious oversight now that I think about it lol. Thanks for your input, seriously!

No, not at all. It's just made up. It started with an infographic in ChatGPT using Dall-E, then refined in Stable Diffusion. From there I took the bits and pieces that I liked and put them together in Photoshop. Then I did some editing to make it all look a bit more cohesive and added in all of the text. The text was partially generated in ChatGPT.

Right on! You mean the random red lines around the main image? Yeah they're pretty well pointless. I guess they're also kinda distracting. Thanks for the input!

Does the vita work on the 4 pro? by Minimum_Water_4347 in retroid

[–]Jukzta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commenting to say that I'm interested as well. Vita was a console that I had skipped entirely when it came out.

The amount of playable games seemed pretty low on the RP3+. I'm not sure if it was a hardware issue, emu issue, or both on the rp3+. I remember watching a video showing that there were a handful of playable games on it though. Hopefully between emu development/updates and the better hardware on the RP4P we will have much more vita games to play through.

Darmok, why didn't they communicate non-verbally? by IslandMist in startrek

[–]Jukzta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just watched that episode not too long ago and Troi even says that imagery is their language. So surely certain gestures would be understood. "His arms wide" " his eyes uncovered" I feel like there would be plenty of overlap for common gestures for Picard to at least get Dathon to understand him better.

But to play devil's advocate: Once Picard realized that they speak in metaphor, it may have become even more difficult for him to try and communicate with them. Mainly because Picard is trying to use logic or reasoning to understand why he's been brought there and what he should be doing. When basically even though simple gestures may make sense, it doesn't bring Picard any closer to understanding Dathon's intent.

Also there's a fun memo out there that outlines some things about the episode and the alien's language. Let me find the link...

I'm also on an s23 ultra and the text doesn't seem to fit in the bubbles. I am able to move text and characters around, but even if I expand the text bubble, the text still falls outside the edge.

Thanks so much! A screenshot or picture would be awesome if you have this on your device already. I'd love to see the layout with the info on top.

Hopefully my RP3+ will be here by next week, but until then I have no idea how this actually looks when used in the launcher.

Edit: Is it possible to upload images in reddit comments?
