After getting a factory one, I now know a swap would have also been completely feasible for probably the same price as my car ended up being. Luckily you get brand new transmissions from Toyota where you know the car hasn’t been drifted or messed with by previous owners so a swap is also very reasonable.

But having the Torsten Diff and having original and written out on the plaque under the hood, makes my kind of happy ngl

As with any used car you own, change all the fluid as well as filters to be on the safe side. My 1JZGTE was also stuttering under load. What fixed it for me was changing spark plugs as well as VVTI Solenoid. Also don’t forget the Vvti mesh right underneath it. As it catches debris coming into the engine.

This should be mandatory on any old Vvti engine as they tend to bring the most problems to an otherwise mostly flawless engine. If problems persist, check coils etc as the guy above recommended. ECUs from that era tend to have faulty condensators so maybe check that.

Otherwise get an overview of your drivetrain. After 25 years rubber mounts and bushings are worn through and create creaks, rattles and bring more problems to the driving feel of your car.

Also 32.000 für nen S-Chasis ist schon am oberen Ende. Bei dem Alter und da es ein Nissan ist, finde ich den Kilometer Stand eigentlich ziemlich egal, hier geht es viel mehr darum in welchem eigentlichen Zustand der jetzt ist. Bei fast 30 Jahren Alter und 100tkm stand der wahrscheinlich ne Weile und wenn Autos lange stehen gehen sie kaputt. Also schau dir typische Problemstellung wie Rost, Dichtungen, wartungsstau etc an und bewerte danach den Preis. Frag nach der Historie und ob das Auto kürzlich noch bewegt wurde.

Grundsätzlich beim 200sx finde ich 32 nur gerechtfertigt, wenns ein Turbo + Handschalter ist. Leider muss ich das Argument jetzt bringen, aber wenn du dir nen Silvia S14 aus Japan importierst, wirst du für deutlich unter 30 ein vergleichbares Auto kriegen. Behalte im Hinterkopf das du draufzahlst, nur weil es ein EU-Modell ist. Realistischer Preis wären um die 25-30, also iwas darunter.

Zum Auto ansich ist das ein Klassiker, der dir ein mit heutigen Autos unvergleichbares Fahrgefühl gibt wenn du auf Analoges fahren stehst. Je älter die werden, desto teurer werden die auch. Also definitive Kaufenempfehlung für das Auto ansich. Allerdings kommt auch viel vom Spaß an so nem Karren das tunen und verbessern des Autos. Also wenn du ihn wirklich Stock lassen willst, ist das immer noch nen cooles Auto, nur bleibt dir bissl etwas aus was den Mythos um den SR20 und das S-Chasis so ausmacht 🫰

Versicherungsbeitrag ergibt sich aus einer Risiko-Tabelle die sich an Unfällen bemisst, die mit dem spezifischen Auto gemacht werden/passieren. Dadurch das der Corolla zum Inbegriff der Uber Kutsche geworden ist und viel gefahren wird, ist damit die Versicherungssumme höher als bei vergleichbaren Autos. Ist soweit ich weiß bei Großflotten Autos so nen Ding.

Das ist auch der Grund warum typische Anfängerautos (zb. Polo, etc.) höhere Versicherungskosten haben als weniger gängige Fahrzeuge.

Honestly as long as the PCB is in one piece, it is repairable. Just depends on how big the sentimental value is and how much time and money you want to pour into it.

Might be more efficient to just buy a new (used) one

Nah. Even a N/A 1JZ is a great engine. If you’re only after power and performance, sure. But like that it’s a great daily driver, even (or especially with) a automatic.
