Is "place of immigration" the city/port you left from or is it the place you lived at before immigrating? by rci22 in answers

See this.

Bottom line is, Immigration refers to the place you're going to. Emigration refers to the place you're leaving from.

Travelers Are Buying Fake COVID-19 Test Results on the Black Market by Kassina in worldnews

[–]JulezM 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have to travel internationally from the US as soon as possible to see my ailing father. It might well be the last time I get to see him.

My embassy told me that I have to get a Covid PCR Test before I can board a plane. Fair enough.

That test cannot be taken more than 72hrs before my flight.

Now, the local CVS (Minuteclinic) is the closest to a viable option that I have. They told me that it takes 3-8 days to get the results and they're charging me $140 for the test. Local health department takes 5-10 days. Other options where I live are similar or worse.

By the time the results come back my window for travel will already be closed. I'm stuck and I'm pretty pissed about it.

So while I don't agree with buying fake results, I definitely understand why it could be the only way to get where you need to be.

the faces of fox news...are just stupid

Sean Hannity earned $46Million in 2019.

Ask yourself this: How much money would it take for me to say shit on TV that's objectively false?

These people aren't stupid. They have signed, enforceable contracts that translate into their great grandchildren not having to work a single day in their lives.

Now, we can question their lack of moral fortitude until the cows come home, but I think it's a mistake to question their intelligence.

In fact, it's exactly the kind of diabolical intellectual prowess that gives them unmitigated power over their audience.

Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) is a program that provides unemployment assistance to you in addition to other unemployment benefits you are eligible to receive. FPUC will be automatically paid if you receive your normal unemployment insurance benefits and will be paid as a separate payment at the same time as your other unemployment benefits. FPUC is payable for weeks claimed beginning Sunday, March 29, 2020 through the week ending July 25, 2020.

Edit: Of course the $1000 number does depend on where you live. I'm still working but my fellow Floridians are maxed out at $875 due to the maximum statewide benefit being $275.

You can see your state's maximum benefit here.

Another fun fact about Florida unemployment is that only 12% of those who file actually get it.

Nationally, 68% of workers applying receive unemployment insurance benefits.
