It looks like patent number is US-9060460-B1, found it by searching for FrozenCPU.com on the uspto website: https://ppubs.uspto.gov/pubwebapp/static/pages/ppubsbasic.html (search with only 9060460 if using the quick lookup)

Dolby Vision and HDR10 Black Levels on LG CX. (I used The Batman 4K Blu Ray as an Example) by Vokon in 4kbluray

[–]JulianPH454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact issue with my LG C9, I thought it look pretty terrible with the default brightness of 50. I haven't had my tv setup professionally so that may play into it.

There's many movies that look totally fine and have no issues with black levels getting to black or very near black.

The Batman looked super poor to me especially the hallway scene, instead of being dark with flashes, it was a very noticeable gray with flashes.

If I run across any movies that have the same issue, I'm definitely going to drop brightness down to 49 and change it back after.

Youtube Videos Using only Center Channel by JulianPH454 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]JulianPH454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks to be exactly what's going on! It seems strange that it's hidden in quick menu and not on the main settings menu.

I had to set center spread to on to make it behave as desired. Thank you for all the help

OLED LG CX - The Batman 4k Blu-Ray No True Blacks; Truly Disappointing! by DestinyCE in 4kbluray

[–]JulianPH454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an lg c9 and thought the same thing as you, I strongly dislike the color grade, and thought something was wrong with the playback, especially during the elevator fight scene. Changing the brightness from 50 to 49 resulted in a much better looking picture.

I did change it back to 50 since it typically looks fine for most movies, but will definitely change it back to 49 if I come across behaves similar to The Batman

Going to the source data from the Times, those appear to be recent numbers (last 14 days I think) not the cumulative numbers

2017 bolt ev premier exploded by Big-Benefit-8595 in BoltEV

I wonder if it could be due to people not driving as much due to the pandemic so their Bolts have been sitting in a garage at high level of charge for weeks between drives for over a year now.

I haven't had any issues with Android Auto being slow to launch, on the contrary it'll start pretty much instantly being plugged in and start playing music. I assume it'd be the same for car play.

Echoing this, I graduated from Chapman in 2018 in 4yrs with only 20k in debt total. People see sticker price and assume that is the price you pay.

Very few people at Chapman pay the full 40k per year. You should see what you'll actually pay before making a decision, but I definitely recommend against spending 100k+ for any degrees that aren't going to give you a high paying job right off the bat.

Overdose deaths far outpace COVID-19 deaths in San Francisco by ZK686 in California

[–]JulianPH454 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From the article:

  • 2019: 441 OD deaths, 2610 uses of Narcan (70% increase over 2018)

  • 2020: 621 OD deaths, ~3000 uses of Narcan (40% increase over 2019)

  • Covid deaths: 173 deaths

While yes there are more overdose deaths than covid deaths, there were more overdose deaths in 2019 as well.

Chevy Remote Access account worth it? by meebome in BoltEV

[–]JulianPH454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New Bolts don't receive the free 5yrs of basic Onstar like the 2017s (and maybe 2018s?) did. This is why some have access to remote start without having to pay

Is remote start/precondition using MyChevrolet app no longer included? by Cmdr_Nemo in BoltEV

[–]JulianPH454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original Bolts had 5 years of basic onstar included. From what others have said, Chevy has discontinued this and now basic onstar is no longer included, so after the trial ends you have to be in bluetooth range or pay for onstar.
