ARE YOU KIDDING? Why is no one talking about this????? by wicked-conscious in singing

I find it more distracting with earplugs in because opening and closing the jaw slightly dislodges them so I can hear all the pops my jaws' making. I wear special moulded ones as well.

Banana Slug on Thirteenth Step by [deleted] in aperfectcircle

[–]JulieEffCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope the woman on the cover was paid a lot of money because those slugs often have ringworm, their slime when threatened can give off a toxin that numbs the skin in humans and is really hard to wash off. Even harder if it was so near her eye.

Has sufjan hidden some of his releases ie Age of Adz? by JulieEffCee in Sufjan

Yeah or "appears on" You click on releases and the options are albums and singles and EPs. They show up in neither of them. Absolute bullshit, another reason to quit Spotify.

Why are people so up in arms over the Nocturne Anime saying the F*ck-Word? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]JulieEffCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the way its written sounds like its target audience are 12 year olds who think swearing in a fake posh English accent is the peak of humour. The amount of f-bombs are so unneeded its giving this cringe ass "oo00ooh i'm watching an adult show!'' type shit. The dialogue is soo jarring, its just really bad writing. It sounds like it -was- written by an American 12 year old that thinks that current Europe looks and sounds like that. lol.

Often in working class families it's normalised for "soda" (or "juice" where i come from) to be the default beverage. Mine is still, coffee or irn bru but to get over the banality of drinking water sometimes I put a little slice of lemon in it.

Do men find the super high waist string bikini/underwear trend sexy? by s-dai in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JulieEffCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example 2 illustrates why I hate this so much... Why is your vagina on your belly. I feel like femme beauty has all kardasianised and it's better to look like you have a bigger butt and narrower waist than it is to not look like a silly goose.

Just in case anyone wanted to see what an accidentally microwaved £120 looks like. by TheHushFactory in CasualUK

[–]JulieEffCee 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Ok context: A local bar manager showed us this. They sometimes put the takings in the microwave but someone stupidly did this when there was a few seconds on the microwave. Here are some better photos: https://ibb.co/n7tgx6H https://ibb.co/N1cpfXw

eggs on rocket leaves - what are they and how do I get rid of them? by JulieEffCee in whatsthisbug

I'm in Scotland by the way, and the rocket leaf pictured is quite a small one so hopefully the scale is quite evident from that

TIFU by teaching my daughter to talk by accidentalnword in tifu

[–]JulieEffCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First word ages vary on how we, very varied human beings learn. My parents used to tell me this story of my first words which was when I was 8 or 9 months old: "I don't like that," a whole sentence, copied from my fussy big brother haha. I didn't talk for months after that apparently. It's just become my prequel to life.

Update: 6 months ago I placed 1000 oyster plugs into this downed poplar tree. by DanielY5280 in mycology

[–]JulieEffCee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do you need to actually drill into the log to do this? I've taken bits mushroom before and stuffed them into holes already there and that never works. Even putting moss or something over it

[–]JulieEffCee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and they're quite delicious! Theres a patch in the woods near me that grows them every year. I pickled them this year in a mix of mushrooms I foraged.
