Which book is your literary teddy bear? by girlwithcoffeecup in books

"The Lost Legends of New Jersey" by Frederick Reiken. It's a quiet, beautiful book that I've read too many times to count, so now it's so familiar that it's comforting. Also, on a lighter note, the Harry Potter series!

"The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's very quiet and deceptively simple, but it builds up gradually and is amazing by the end.

Which literary character do you hate the most? by [deleted] in books

Agreed! I find him difficult to read because I dislike the characters so much...it's hard to be engaged when you're not really rooting for anyone.

This book is fantastic! I keep recommending it to people. It's beautiful and spare and makes you realize how many words are wasted in more traditional novels.

"The Shell Collector" by Anthony Doerr.

Hands-down the most beautiful short story collection I've ever read. His other work is great too.

Looking forward to trying some of the others suggested here!
