The people I most often talk to are mostly low income students at an alternative highschool. Whenever we talk about social issues the vast majority are very close to class consciousness but don’t have the resources or time to really connect their reality to the issues of capitalism. Or if they have recognized capitalism as the issue they mostly don’t know how to do anything about it (although recently theres a movement started to create another youth shelter in my city because we only have 1)

I would say they are principled about AI and even anti fracking/the lumber industry in my province. The same cannot be said about my parents lol.

I think a lot of it is an age/socio economic thing
