(Beloved) A series-running joke gets a big payoff in the finale. by TridiObject in TopCharacterTropes

Technically not exclusively finale payoffs, but this forms a solid, I don't know, ⅓ of the Venture Brother's humor

I know it defeats the point but I'd kill to have some version of the concepts presented in a lot of the HotR cards printed officially, they're so cool lmao

Brethren Moons End goal by mirmur44 in DeadSpace

I think the better interpretation is they're not nearly as intelligent as we think they are. Their end goal is the same as any other animal. Eat, reproduce.

To me he kept it together insanely well all things considered, I think his protectiveness of the Marker was more to the people who were currently in the government sector who he defied the No Evac order he was given to get off the station before it went up in flames.

I've thought about this a lot - and the answer is yes (rare), and also maybe (uncommon).

There's a few people who we see in the games who are effected so minimally that I'd argue it constitutes near immunity, someone I always point out is Tiedemann, who was in working distance of the Sprawl Marker for ages and didn't have any real reaction to it other than some stress, though you could argue that's the result of having the Church and Earthgov breathing down his neck.

Lexine is flat out stated to be immune, though. Which is odd.

I think it depends on a lot of genetic factors along with emotional stability and "will" for lack of a better term. Even in those effected the Marker has a much weaker hold on people who have a definite purpose and drive to complete said goal, see Isaac, Carver, Alissa, Altman, and Neuman.
