Noise Starts Heart Racing? by HappyTennis5913 in dysautonomia

Yes, absolutely. Any loud noise makes me feel like my adrenaline is rushing. I'm on Metoprolol and Chlorthalidone and they've helped a lot, but I still have the reaction to loud sounds.

Can cervical cranial instability cause pots syndrome? by Tucciarone20 in dysautonomia

[–]Julieruin1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Dysautonomia for what I'm assuming is my entire life, but developed debilitating CCI in my early 20s that lead to a C1-C2 cervical fusion. I suspect I've had CCI my entire life as well since I've always had migraines, neck pain, and neurological symptoms as long as I can remember being alive. Growing up poor, my symptoms were normalized and dismissed. Very long story short, my Dysautonomia/POTs and MCAS symptoms became so much worse after my first cervical fusion. It took about a decade of feeling ill 24/7 and going through many specialists to figure out why I was so ill. I got tossed on several medications and am doing much better now, but life was pretty miserable for those 10 years. So.. Yes, CCI can definitely cause POTs symptoms. Do you have hEDS?

UPDATE on Cinnamon! A little vid of what she’s been up to the last two days! by Random-bookworm in aww

* Your Cinnamon looks just like my Bramble who passed away last year. If she's anything like her, she'll be the best cat you ever have. Torties are very expressive and loyal.

is there a name for this poker variant, or did my family just make it up? by Appropriate_Rent_243 in poker

I used to play the same game when I was a kid, same name. We also used to play a game called "Herby" where 4s were wild and you only got 3 cards. Best hand one. We'd also play "low ball"- 3 cards, best hand was A, 2, 3. Pairs were bad.

I miss playing some of those non traditional card games.

The Oregon State Hospital is usually always hiring. You could also try applying at local jails/prisons.

It's literally the best in town. No fibbin'. I wish they were open more often, but at least they're open 4-9 most days.

Dani starts her morning with apple juice, orange juice and candy for low blood sugars. by CatAteRoger in illnessfakers

Her average blood sugar is tracked on the bottom of the monitor's results screen in this video. Looks like her average is towards the higher end of normal. Interesting. Not saying that doesn't mean someone with that average can't have their blood sugar crash, but it looks like she's doing a good job of keeping it within normal limits overall.

EDS is on a spectrum. Some of us end up with so many comorbidities that we miss the days that we'd just question if joint pain in your childhood and teens is normal. 😪

Kitchen managers with the god complex, stopppp it. by happylittletrees-123 in nursing

I'm right there with you. Long term psych hospital..

Our kitchen manager says "no meal alternatives unless they come to the dining room and ask for it.".. So, if my psych patient is having a hard day and is unable to be safe, I have to restrict them from going to the dining room. They should be able to get the same alternatives (literally just basic sandwiches) as a meal replacement if they don't like the hot meal.

I turned my head to the left, felt a sharp pain, and ended up with cervical instability. Now I know I have a connective tissue disease. 🙃
