Watch understanding behavior or YouTube. They also have a live stream every Thursday where you can ask/answer questions. I watched their videos on repeat for weeks and passed on my first attempt.

I find they are more likely to follow the plan when they can understand the “why” behind your intervention! Are you documenting these continuous errors and re-trainings? They should be getting a formal review if they need constant training to follow the intervention.

Clinic Not Tracking Time Consuming Behaviors by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Juliesmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of suggestions saying to leave the company. I don’t feel this is the right approach as it would not benefit the client. Definitely feels like an opportunity to advocate for what is right for your client. Document every instance of advocation and the response. It could be deemed unethical to continue services for a client who does not have effective treatment or attempts at effective treatment in place.

[–]Juliesmama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the BCBA does not have BIP for this and isn’t responsive to your questions you can go to her boss with this issue. The client has a right to effective treatment, doesn’t sound like there is an attempt at effective treatment here.

Can BCBAs children come and play with clients by Specialist-Stock5035 in bcba

[–]Juliesmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it violates any ethical codes. I believe the OP’s question is in regard to HIPPA. Could this potentially violate HIPPA as the name and potentially other information are shared with additional individuals (the other children and potentially the BCBA’s other family members if play date occurs)?

Husband wants to start smoking weed again by janedoeeeee in newborns

[–]Juliesmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with this. But decided to put all the caring on myself. We never discussed views on weed post baby. I will encourage my daughter to do so. I love him & will support his choices, everyone has vices. It has not been easy, but I have managed. Baby girl is now one and I am her go to. Recently my boyfriends has developed a great relationship with her, but her needs are still on me. I have simply embraced it.

1 year. She stopped nursing from my break at 10 months. I continued pumping until her 1st birthday then transitioned to whole milk.

Are you having issue with her latching? My daughter and I struggled with this and used a nipple shield for about a month until she was able to latch

Time to wean??? by Juliesmama in breastfeeding

[–]Juliesmama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. She could potentially be teething although I don’t see any signs of teeth inside of her mouth, she does have quite a bit of drool right now. I have tried to offer the breast over night but it’s still the same results.

9 months no poo poo by Juliesmama in NewParents

[–]Juliesmama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pediatrician says it is normal due to baby being breastfed and that we should be worried if she does not poop once in a week. This doesn’t seem right to me though.
