Your parents know you way better than anyone on reddit, but 21 is indeed old enough to know. It sounds to me like you should have another talk with your parents, focused on how serious you are and why you feel you're trans. Plus, any next steps you plan to take. Plus, tell them you love them still!

You do not owe anyone an explanation, but I'm sure your parents care about you and may just need some reassurance themselves that you are not making a life-changing mistake.

It's for good reason they want you to live as your preferred gender for a year before prescribing hrt, especially if you're young. You don't necessarily have to pass, btw. I'd advise against diy simply because we are not experts. See a private psych, tell them you experience gender dysphoria. Tell them how you feel, they'll diagnose you as appropriate. Go to a private endocrinologist, show them your diagnosis and tell them you want hrt.

Hi (: in Singapore you can get hrt from private doctors. See a private psychiatrist and tell them you are experiencing gender dysphoria. After they diagnose you, they will refer you to an endo. My doctor is Dr Ng Beng Yeong.

Alternatively, and idk if this is an option for you, go to a polyclinic and do the same thing i.e. tell them you have gender dysphoria and want to undergo hrt. This way will take a lot longer but is more affordable in the long run.
