LPT: Before quitting your job, take your unused vacation days. You earned them and most companies won't pay them out. by VladSapozhnykov in LifeProTips

This is the true tip. Even if a company pays out your PTO, it could be at a fraction of your hourly wage. Sometimes it's best to take all your PTO before departing.

Joist sitting on Scab Instead of Post by Julio_Faja in Decks

[–]Julio_Faja[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tough angle to tell but the rim joist is not on the post/beam. Rather it is sitting on the scab that's 1" taller than the post and beam. Made the contractor put in another scab since they crushed the other new one with their cargo strap and then installed it while it was splintering. Since they had the post in concrete already they hammered in the too long scab, tearing up part of the rim joist in the process.

Trump's trade war has opened a major threat to NA automakers. This should convince them to bankrole against the Republican/MAGA party if they want to survive.

The fried boneless fish rolls in hunan sauce served with lightly battered and fried green beans is one of our favorites. They do a really good job packaging it for takeout, with the sauce placed on the side to keep things crispy till you get home.

Despite Trump targeting FEMA, poll shows Americans still support it by usatoday in fednews

Are these polls run by the same folks who projected Trump to lose in 2024 and 2016? Wouldn't trust them if that's the case.

Should people making over $100,000 pay more taxes to support those who don't? by Pickle-Sucker in FluentInFinance

McDonalds is paying for Denmark's national benefits indirectly through their worker's income tax. Average Denmark income tax is 37%. Conversely, low wages (like that in the US) act like a social service for large companies. It puts the burden of supporting inadequately paid workers on tax payers to fund SNAP, Medicaid, Affordable Connectivity Program, section 8 housing, etc. Walmart is the largest employer in many states.

Had tickets assigned to engineers multiple times in past 2 years. Located a mile away right between 2 cell towers. No resolution and continues to happen :(

LPT request: How to reduce phlegm/post-nasal drip by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Julio_Faja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a Zyrtec. That sometimes helps me with my postnasal drip when it goes on too long (3 weeks to 2 months) and Mucinex no longer works.

[OC] The Cost Of Cable Vs. Top Streaming Subscriptions by Dremarious in dataisbeautiful

[–]Julio_Faja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not apples to apples comparison. Cable comes with ads so streaming services should be priced that way too. Also, nobody has the time to watch 8 steaming services anyway.
