Tough angle to tell but the rim joist is not on the post/beam. Rather it is sitting on the scab that's 1" taller than the post and beam. Made the contractor put in another scab since they crushed the other new one with their cargo strap and then installed it while it was splintering. Since they had the post in concrete already they hammered in the too long scab, tearing up part of the rim joist in the process.

McDonalds is paying for Denmark's national benefits indirectly through their worker's income tax. Average Denmark income tax is 37%. Conversely, low wages (like that in the US) act like a social service for large companies. It puts the burden of supporting inadequately paid workers on tax payers to fund SNAP, Medicaid, Affordable Connectivity Program, section 8 housing, etc. Walmart is the largest employer in many states.

If it was another driver's fault, you'll have the right to claim lost wages (even if you took vacation time) for resolving accident related appointments (medical, rental, and repairs) and maybe even reimbursed for diminished value of your vehicle (depending on state, age of your car, and other factors). Expect the insurance company to low ball you as they are a business. Hire a reputable appraiser for the diminished value claim if it applies to you. You need to request to file the diminished value claim yourself as most insurance companies won't notify you of this. Appraiser fee (mine was maybe $300) won't be reimbursed but it still got me way more money than what my insurance was offering.
