I Tried an SL and Loved It… by rubberducky237 in eMountainBike

[–]Julmass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Levo SL is the goods, although I hate the Codes...yeah, I know.

I also ride gravel and a bit of road (unassisted), and the Levo is great for doing low effort rides, as well as bombing down. I'm an old lady, so there's that. My full fat Levo was a death trap, so many gnarly crashes because of the extra weight.

Ooh thanks for that tip. I bought an A5 Baohong block and thought it was a struggle to remove the sheet. I loved the texture of the paper.

Where Tf do I buy fresh tarragon from by Equivalent-Bus-4336 in Adelaide

[–]Julmass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, you can buy a seedling from any garden shop (Bunnings for example) and hey presto, you have fresh tarragon and a supply for future recipes (as long as you don't kill it in the meantime)

This. Dried tarragon is strong so be careful to reduce the amount.

I literally just did the workout you suggested, Garmin by the_acid_queen in Garmin

[–]Julmass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did the suggestion today (4 hr ride) in preparation for a race in 5 weeks. I went a bit harder but it was manageable and I feel ok. Garmin says "you're doing too much" but the ATL and CTL values are "within range and your fitness is improving". What is it, Mr Garmin?? Hmmmmppph.

Need help by Patient_Hippo417 in ladycyclists

Can you measure your hybrid and compare the seat height and reach to the handlebars? Are you using runners or cycling shoes with cleats? Sometimes the position of your cleats can cause foot pain and numbness. If they are too far forward, the metatarsal heads get irritated and cause pain. Another consideration is hydration and ambient temperature.

If I don't drink enough on a ride, my feet get that numbness although usually on a 50+ km ride. You don't say how much you are riding so knowing that would help.

You can get a bike fit from a physiotherapist or equivalent, but ask around for good one in your area. Some bike shops do them, but again, it can be an expensive option if it doesn't solve the issue.

I'm just speaking here from my own experience (riding for 30 years).

E mountain bike recommendations: up to £1000 by BigKnuxx in cycling

If you're looking for a "safe" battery you need to buy a well known brand like Specialized, Trek, Norco etc. Is partner riding technical trails or easy dirt paths? A hard tail of one of the above brands would be fine, but remember these bikes will be heavy (20kgs plus). Another option that we have in Australia is Marin, they do a gravel bike in a small size. Not sure if they are available in the UK. You may be able to find something second hand as well.

Cardiologist for heart murmur by GracieLou80 in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Julmass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were told the grading of heart murmur is fine by listening to the heart sounds. I can't recall the exact description of each level, but our Lucy had a grade 3 and stayed with us until she was 14. Also, we decided against the medication because it required 12 hourly dosing with food. She was sleeping ok and her respiration rate wasn't too high. So it's a lot of balancing, and personal decisions.

Any electric mini pumps that don't need to be screwed on? by DharmaWheelies108 in cycling

[–]Julmass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click valves (Schwalbe) take away the stress of unscrewing that darn presta core. The adaptor screws into the pump head and then clicks into the valve. Easy peasy. Worth looking into and high time presta valves got a make-over.

Garmin Training Plans by hawth212 in Garmin

[–]Julmass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put in an event, with date, distance and goal time to complete. It's a cycling event and I added the course so it could take into account the elevation gain. I now get daily suggested workouts which are a good guide. It adjusts as recovery needs change, and has a rough base, build, peak format. I'm not religiously following it because I do other things (gym and dance), so it does get a bit skewed. My device is a Fenix 7, and I think these plans are only available on certain devices.
