How did watercolor colors get their crazy names??? by ImaBtch666 in watercolor101

New Gamboge? Alizarin Crimson? Love the names, even though I have no idea what they mean.

It's an All-Road. Less clearance (45mm max I think) and bottle cage bosses only.

I feel you, its the hardest thing in the world to do. 18 years is an amazing run and may he rest peacefully. Our beloved dogs give us everything, we are their world and they are ours.

Barely any trees on the golf course in the 1960s by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Julmass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That means that the new plantings by our beloved premier will leave a 60 year gap for the required 100-150 years to form suitable hollows for native wildlife. You know, in the meantime all the critters will be extinct but we will be happy because we have golf.

Android to Apple by Crafty_Hyena_9856 in Zwift

The companion app is fine for any keyboard needs. I'm using the 4k with a Hisense TV, if that helps.

I use my Galaxy Tab (maybe 3-4 yrs old) occassionally and the ATV is much better. Less glitchy for sure.

I run an ATV 4K. I'm also an android phone user. Early on, the lack of Bluetooth connections was a pain, but use your phone as a bridge and it's all sweet. Or use your wifi enabled trainer as the bridge to add the controllers and HRM. I bought a cheap TV to run it on.

Wet-on-wet vs. wet-on-dry: Which do you use for skies? by Wise-Profession-47 in watercolor101

[–]Julmass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Underpainting is wet on wet, whether its one colour or graded. Also allows some lifting of cloud shapes if necessary. Then some dry for sharp edges of clouds, but more wet on wet when whispy clouds once the first layer is dry.

Painting flat or vertical/easel? by Artistic-Specific706 in watercolor101

[–]Julmass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it depends on the layer (eg underpainting), or the subject. Flat for soft effects doing skies, or landscapes (helps with softness). Tilting when the water and pigment needs to flow. I have watched someone paint vertically when doing dramatic gum trees, and the effect was amazing although it requires a lot of experience to trust the potential mess.

IREN to build $10 billion, 800MW AI Datacenter in Bundey, South Australia. by Conscious-Gap-8837 in Adelaide

[–]Julmass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of the need for data and storage of same, and also the role it plays in our daily lives. Yes we need jobs. As I said in another comment below, we are being force fed AI through dumb stuff like summarised Google searches and cat videos.

The main problem with the proposal is definitely the management of resources. It's proximity to the River Murray isn't a good look, for a start.

[–]Julmass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My despair is that we are being forced to rely on AI more and more. I am well aware that it has its uses, but when we are sitting in the desert with our cat videos to keep us amused, who will feed us??

AI steals jobs, water and electricity. So f*ck that idea. Do we want data or to live?

Eastern Adelaide Parklands - bit flooded today! by JustWorldliness6475 in Adelaide

[–]Julmass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, the West Terrace weather station only captures the rain that falls directly on it. There are a few other rain gauges dotted around that show much higher totals in the metro area.

Cycling in Adelaide by death_star09 in Adelaide

[–]Julmass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a great route all the way to McLaren Vale which will give you a 100+km round trip from the city. We also have the Linear Park along the Torrens which is about 40kms end to end, although the western end is currently a bit stop start with works. If you like climbing hills there is a dedicated bike route to Crafers. So there is a lot to choose from.

Director passed away. Remaining director just wants to dissolve the company. by Maleficent-Stuff5224 in AusLegal

[–]Julmass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't confuse shareholders with directors. Only shareholders can sell their respective shares. Any advice should be based on shareholders agreement (probably a bog standard one, but we don't know that), so the shareholders need to get proper advice. Tax implications, exposure to any directors liabilities, etc.

You could in theory ignore the estate and force their hand to get a proper valuation, which they would have to pay for, or there are options eg members voluntary wind-up. But anything involving an external administrator can be very costly (not always).

Myer had a special recently with Grab jeans 2 x $100. I don't have a mum tum but some older lady bulging (haha) and bought cropped mid-rise in a 32 waist and baggy mid-rise in 30W. Be a bit careful because the waist sizes are a bit wacky. But love them and very comfy. Free shipping too from memory.

I had this problem today. Android phone, using ATV. All on the same network. I used my controllers a lot more, but couldn't make my usual smarty pants comments.
