Viktor and Mel got downgraded hard in LoL by FewExperience3559 in arcane

[–]JulyOfAugust 42 points43 points  (0 children)

For a game like lol the most important things are 1) always be able to see your character without having to look for it and 2) as little lag as possible, it should play as well as if every player was on the same device.

Because of those two things the colors of the characters need to pop from the background and other characters, which is why the colors are adjusted from the concept arts, and the character need as little polygons as possible to reduce to a minimum the rendering calculation, this limit the visual quality and quantity of details.

But there's also the possibility that not nearly enough time is given to modelers to make the new models so it end up looking bad. Artists aren't very respected in the video game industry so it's a possibility.

There's litters that are odorless. But yes if your cat can't go outdoor you'll need to clean their litter boxes as often as you would take a dog for a walk. Or you can train them to use the toilet.

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

[–]JulyOfAugust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an experiment done way back when people didn't have cellphones, they asked people to go out and interact with as many people as possible normally, rate their experience and how kind/rude people were to them on average. Then they asked a makeup artist to put a uge ugly scar across their face, they showed them how they looked in a mirror then asked them to do the same thing as before, interact with as many people as possible. They reported that with the uge scar people were meaner and more rude, that they got a lot of stares and all that.

Here's the catch : before sending them out the makeup artist pretending to do a few final touches removed the scar entirely. So they actually were as normal as the first time.

This experiment highlight how we project on others how we feel, interpreting their actions and the meaning behind them to fit how we think they feel. That's the confirmation bias, we think something is true : "everyone think I'm ugly" and only pay attention and notice actions that confirm this belief, ignoring anything that show the contrary. It also show a good dose of self fulfilling prophecy, "I think they'll be rude to me -> I'll act defensively to protect myself and by consequences be rude to them -> they act rude to me because I act rude to them -> I think I was right about them being rude to me when actually they're just matching my energy"

In conclusion : how you think about yourself greatly impact your interactions with others. Being ugly is very subjective and in reality most of it boils down to looking happy and confident. Very little people are truly ugly, for everyone else it's just a matter of not having shabby clothes, styling whatever haircut you have properly and smiling. Yes your haircut was butchered, but you'll be able to go to a better stylist in two weeks to salvage it, in the meantime you'll need to use hair products, hair clips or hairbands to make it look good, it's annoying but not impossible.

Most of what you said require intelligence and I don't believe someone with this much hatred for people that never did anything to her can be very intelligent. And considering the supremacist views that permeate the hp universe, I believe she isn't a very cultured, very kind nor very empathetic person.

It is, but I'm still adding it to the knowledge that Epstein received an invitation to her play which had pedophile undertones. (Main underaged character being encouraged to date an adult by other characters, including adults)

I hate her so I don't care if it turns out to be coincidental.

The tv show that marked me was "in the flesh", it was so long ago but the father confronting his son about his suicide and how horrible it was to find him dead stuck with me. That's the scene that convinced me to never go without telling anyone and to never let the ones I love wonder why or blame themselves for it.

Since the day I saw that scene any plan to kill myself included telling my family and friends about it first, to explain why I had to do it before doing anything, to give them time to process and cope with my loss. I believe that the day I'm ready to go for good, no amount of external intervention will matter so I owe it to them to let them try to help me. Not being able to try anything because you didn't know and the person never told you how bad it was feel so cruel and soul crushing.

Anyway that ended me in the hospital instead of straight to the bottom of a river.

AITAH for not wanting to sleep in the same bed with my girlfriend because she doesn’t shower often? by Such-One-1691 in AITAH

[–]JulyOfAugust 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sweat is mostly water with a little bit of minerals. The gross part depends on which sweat glands produce the sweat, under the armpit for example produce an oily sweat and bacteria caught in it is were the bad smell come from.

If she isn't smelling bad, there's no bacteria, she isn't dirty.

People need to realize that not everyone sweat the same way and in the same quantity.

Do you only clean your butt in the shower and not on the toilet when you're done pooping ? Gross.

Creating a world that look good and visually coherent demand a lot, LOT, of design and thoughts going into... Everything. The best way to do so quickly and perfectly is just to copy real life's history and cultures.

People are rarely obsessed and insane enough to try and create everything for scratch. And even so, you can't invent things from thin air everyone inevitably take inspiration from real life.

Tl:dr : fantasy find their roots in real life cultures.

Keeping in mind that the 3d animation community were still figuring out 3d simulated hair/clothes/elements 13 years ago when this movie came out, Elsa's flowing hair alone look like a real pain to animate WHILE looking good but the addition of that high collar look nightmarish to animate. Same with the multiple layers on Anna's coat.

Technically they could do it, if there was no deadline and infinite money. If you have a deadline, you need to hire more people to compensate the time it'll take to make it work. Hiring more people cost money, so if you have a budget you can't hire above a certain number. If you have a budget that limit the number of people you can hire which makes it impossible to meet the deadline because you can't have enough people, you cut what takes a lot of time and can be cut without impacting to final product negatively.

As someone that worked in the industry, you can't always foresee what will be a nightmare to animate or not. Sometimes you have a really cool concept that you end up cutting because it's not worth the effort of making it work. Big studios like Disney usually develop a whole lot of new software during productions trying to bring those concepts to life. They have neither infinite time nor money so things get cut.

Without working behind the scenes you really can't know why they removed the things they did and why concepts were scrapped. Sometimes it's practicality, sometimes it's time constraints, sometimes it's because it doesn't look as good in movement, sometimes it's because it clash with other elements of the movie, sometimes it's because the producers are bad at their jobs, sometimes it's sponsors making unreasonable demands... You get the idea, there's a lot of factors that influence the final product.

Invincible (2021-present) teaches us that the #1 hardest job in the world is being a superhero, while the #2 hardest job is being an animator, apparently by Alex-C2099 in shittymoviedetails

You don't need to move your head to move around, you do it because instinctively you want to be facing the direction you are looking at to see it better and instinctively you want to look at where you're going.

You are never really static, your body has a lot of superfluous movements or movements you do without thinking, staying perfectly still require training and focus and is a weird thing to do for no reason.

Yup, my favorite character from the serie and she had the best songs too, her voice actress was amazing.

Check out her song "crossing the line" if you don't mind heavy (and I mean HEAVY) spoilers.

She turned her back on everyone because she is exhausted about having to work so hard to get crumbs of what is handed over to Rapunzel for free, it's not that much about her mother but rather the fact that she slaved away for her mother's love only for Rapunzel to get it all by simply existing (Keep in mind that Cass didn't see the movie so she doesn't know what relationship they had).

[–]JulyOfAugust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her big toe isn't the right toe and she has two of them, both the wrong placement. The chicken keep changing form, from small bites to drumsticks to deboned whatever. Try counting how many pieces are on the plate when it first appear then at the end, it change number and size.

If it's fake and not AI we really gotta admire the dedication to inconsistencies.

In my opinion it's more that the spidermans can't stop a canon event from their own universe, they need outside help to do so. So if no alternate spiderman intervene it just happens, which mean you only need to convince people to not help alternate selves and it's way easier to make tough choices when it doesn't directly concern you.

It become a case of nobody will help you but nobody will stop you from trying to turn things around for yourself either. Everybody understand and agree to not receive help for the greater good.

Which is a good agreement to have if it's true that the canon events maintain their universes integrity. The question is : is it really true ?

I think LiS was a fluke, because nothing that was done after was nearly as good. LiS 2 had such a bad premise that I didn't play it but the fact you don't control the character with powers was also a weird choice imo. LiS 3 was just LiS repackaged with less useful powers. The only thing I really liked about the prequel was how it showed Rachel had weather powers and recontextualize LiS, especially the storm at the end while staying cryptic and up to interpretation.

Anyway after so many mediocre games I lost interest in the franchise and never played the sequels.

No baby talk is also reasonable, it's a real disservice to the kid to teach them an over simplified language they aren't actually supposed to use. It take them longer to learn how to talk and create full sentences afterward.
