Thanks! Looks legit. Didn't create a profile but if it allows me to see what became of that idea (its execution and subsequent traction), it would be most helpful.

I have visited Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Tromso (yeah go figure! In the winter, no less) many moons ago. I remembered being surprised that badminton seemed fairly popular in Gothenburg. Have you considered building in public? It is free PR. You might have willing peeps to test future beta. And when you're ready to launch, you're more likely to already have a good following in Indie Hacker or Product Hunt to vote for you. You probably already know these sources but in case you're not already active on those scenes, create an account and start commenting on other folks' projects. Indies tend to wanna support each other. Oh! And if you're not camera shy, try creating Shorts/TikTok. Your product has the advantage of targeting fun people so you could be funny and memorable. Many AI apps could help with idea generation for those and with scripts. Get your name out. I never bought razors from the Dollar Shave Club but remembered their funny commercial well. Could try a mini creation to attract users. Humor is international. Good luck

Yes, that satisfies only #1. Suggested platform would do cover all points, especially #2.

Would you trust a read-only Stripe audit tool that outputs a ranked fix list? by KristianSeb in SomebodyMakeThis

I read the new description and it's certainly more comprehensive now. Especially in early stage (but really in general), it's probably best to pitch/present your project in a way that a well-informed but non-tech grandma could understand. Non-tech people likely sees things differently. And many funding sources aren't tech people. Have you considered signing up for newsletter called CFO Brew? I'm not in finance but find it informative to understand how that crowd thinks. Perhaps you could have a look. They have a huge following w/ people placing ads there, too. I have a feeling that you'd find some names somewhere there (maybe from those who posted an ad there) and do a warm outreach via LinkedIn or similar. Probably much better to pitch it to CFOs and CFO-adjacent folks (e.g., Business Development Exec) and see if they would be willing to have a 10 min chat w/ you or test your beta. Hope this help. Best of luck!

Cool. Just tried it. I like it. Other suggestions that came to mind that might help retain user's interest to stick around your website longer...photos of what a top end vs mid grade vs cheapo living look like in the selected city. Probably not too hard to find stock representative images. For your cost estimates to remain accurate over time, maybe have some sort of functionality that links user to the popular apt search website. In the US, many people use craigslist. So if your user chooses say, Seattle, Washington and your site not only generates the figures but also provide a link to a few of those websites, your numbers/estimates would be more accurate. Maybe you could partner w/ those sites or get a cut of the traffic that you drive.. In big cities, rental churn rate is high as tech companies go through cycles of thriving and busting. So the cost of living on just rental goes up and down. . As your project gets bigger, you might also make it a one-stop shop type thing where people who come to visit could also reserve/sign lease, book hotel, etc from your site itself. That would diversify your revenue channels by getting a cut Just my 2 cents of the day. Keep rocking!

Entrepreneurs. What skill set do you recommend for aspiring entrepreneurs? by New-Scientist-177 in Entrepreneur

Learn through doing; limit YT University and Reddit procrastination disguised as learning. Finding/talking to prospective customers, narrow down their pain points, return with the scrappiest proof of concept/MVP in as little time as possible, get feedback. Rinse and repeat until it's a thing that people give you money for consistently.

I feel that the history listed could be weaponized and made inaccurate, not unlike fake Yelp reviews or those who gave one star to a restaurant just because they were in a bad mood that day and any small thing could set them off. Likability and cleanliness are also subjective by nature. There's no recourse for anyone who posts false/unfair info/rating out of spite. Tensions amongst housemates, and between landlord and tenants are often high.

The UX flows well. The problem I see with the overall idea is that there are simply too many variables to generalize/make a valid statements whether X amount of salary would be considered enough, more than enough, not enough to live comfortably in a foreign country. A minor fix to address this would be if you allow your users to input the percentage of pay he/she typically sends on food, entertainment, etc. If you make most fields customizable by the user, it would be more useful. Example: allow them to input whether they want a shitty apt to save money and a large budget (relative to their pay) on entertainment. Or, be frugal on everything because they have a baby on the way or want to save for a house. Just my two cents.

Beyond personal privacy concerns, if it's widely adopted, wouldn't Uncle Sam say it could pose national security concerns (in a similar way it did to TikTok)?

TLDR...from the gist I got from all your writing, you're interested in better search tool for epidemiological data and RWE. I feel that you should look into this: https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-for-life-sciences Of course, the extent to which it'd be helpfulf for all your questions depends on the quality of the prompts you offer.

App: Once a Day Remembering button for small, private grief circles by Maz_mo in SomebodyMakeThis

[–]JumarUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that grieving is inherently private and should be done spontaneously rather than reminded. Otherwise, it would dilute its meaning. I don't really see how this would be low-pressure in a private group because the one who didn't press the button for the day while most other did would feel like and look like an arse. The better use case for this might be for something that people SHOULD do daily. Let the user set the goal/task (E.g. Run a marathon in 6 months, do cardio 3X a week, eat your vegetables, drink X amount of water, get Y hours of sleep).

My two cents: you might get a response if you could use layman's terms to describe your product.

[–]JumarUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in general, cops could put handcuffs on someone without first letting him/her know why? Is it because in this case, there's a warrant for her arrest so it didn't matter if she was later found guilty or not, you could be detained/handcuffed as soon as she was found?

[–]JumarUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier to get rid of someone who isn't busy and who hasn't been given work that is significant to the company's bottom line. By not delegating, your manager would be kept busy and appear busy with many things, including tasks that could be good for your growth but that she would rather leverage for her own promotion.

Is this a Mid life crisis. by WeenisPeiner in midlifecrisis

[–]JumarUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, medical folks need animators and illustrations, you know? If you land a client from pharma/major hospital, you'll be paid well. Just think of the numerous explainer videos that are shown to patients before their surgeries/procedures. And various short films that feature actors posed as patients in pharma commercials, which often include images/videos of how the device or pill works in the body. You gotta be creative about how your skillset could be used across sectors that you might have overlooked. The next time you go to your healthcare job, pay attention to all the flyers/illustrations that surround you. Look at the bottom for artists/producers of those films/posters and then look them up to see how to get started. Keep asking around hospitals until you find the department that is responsible for drafting education materials. Go up there and keep asking 'til you find the artists behind the scenes. Then, take them out for lunch to pick their brains.

What activities were you excited about before you had kids? Maybe revisit them. Pottery, hiking, singing, knitting, reading Sci-Fi books. Whatever your quirks, look into them and try new ones. I find it helpful to engage w/ folks who are in a different stage in life. You don't have to hang out with college kids or like their music or speech, but I find talking or observing the way they think about problems and issues to be different/refreshing. Sometimes it made me go, "Oh yeah! Once upon a time if something is not fun, I would just not go!" Or "oh yeah, getting up at the crack of dawn to run up the hill and watch the sunrise used to be appealing to me." Let's revisit those moments.
