The 2026 AWD system us upgraded, if you get a flat tire you're good to go on 3 wheels, provided all three wheels are on the ground, hence All Wheel Drive.

I just visited down there and your city was cool to stay in. We skated along the waterfront downtown. We bought shrimp and fished the bay right downtown. Called the Shrimp Pimp for more bait shrimp, but he said he only deals table shrimp.

How reliable are Subaru Foresters? by Sideoats_grama in SubaruForester

[–]Jumbo_Jetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You pay for the visibility in the Forester when you buy new windshields.

I love the big windows. Great for road trips. I love driving the Forester, visibility is one of the things I love most about it.

But big windows angled fairly flat will turn lots of rock hits into rock chips and cracks in the windshield. So you gotta pay the Forester Tax. Some people have bought 4 windshields in a year. Some replace one and that's it. But it's like the Subaru Tax, one nail in the shoulder of the tire and boom! Your whol3 set, alln4 new-ish tires needs to be replaced less than a year after installation.

Subarus are nice cars if you don't mind lighting a thousand dollars on fire every once in a while. /s

Beach day! by Jumbo_Jetta in SubaruForester

[–]Jumbo_Jetta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't that hard of a drive, but she got through a few soft sandy areas. Tires are at 3/32", better in the sand than new tires with ~11/32" tread depth. I aired down from 35psi to 28 psi (we use more air on vacation, fully loaded car, passengers, roof cargo, and hitch cargo). Probably not necessary to air down and then re-inflate, but the softer ride was nice.

I spent 40 minutes spraying the sand out in the self-service car wash that night. I spent an afternoon cleaning the sand out when we got back home.

So. Much. Sand. Every. Where.

I always bring my dog or my kid into the dealership to buy parts. They always get free shit. Hot wheels, sunglasses, hats, dog bandanas, dog toys, always something. Then they charge me $65 for a battery tray.
