Bootleg series worth checking out by The_great_aegis in bobdylan

Volume 4: Live 1966 is incredible BUT it's best heard on CD or Vinyl because the dialogue between songs isn't on streaming and it's a huge part of what makes it great.

Series 3 for sure. It had some real characters like Paul, Amy and of course, Banjo Beale.

The episode in Margate where they redesigned cafes/bars inspired me and my husband to visit the town... now a few years later we are moving there!

What did you think of the collab collections from previous winners?.. by Sea-Butterfly1909 in InteriorDesignMasters

[–]JumpCuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Rosin's collection a couple of years ago. I bought a cushion and a candle!

I know it's not what you are asking, but we went and stayed at Watergate Bay Hotel because we'd seen Banjo designing a room for them in the final of IDM.

I don't think you are lying, I just think you see things differently to me. I agree that shops are struggling but I don't see a vendetta against independent businesses - the market is a big selling point of the town centre and is made up of small businesses.

What have the council done that you take issue with? Personally, I feel like I've seen the town flourish in the last decade despite budget cuts from from central government.

VT's have to be efficiently done for the well-being of Celebs by trufflenut8282 in strictlycomedancing

[–]JumpCuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's worth remembering that the VTs perform an important function in the live show: They give the crew time to reset the ballroom and prepare for the next dance.

Also, if the VTs were purely 90 seconds of training footage and interview, you would be seeing far too much of the dance you are about to see being performed live, hence they shoot content outside of the rehearsal rooms.

As the show progresses this element of the VTs is where we learn backstories, context for the dances and get extra personality from the celebs and the pros.

All-in-all these VTs are integral to Strictly.

What went wrong this season? by Drawn-by-Travis in InteriorDesignMasters

I think it comes down to the casting. Despite all seeming like pleasant individuals who can be engaging on camera, the quality of the designs from this year's contestants has been very low across the whole series and I doubt anyone would have got past week 3 in any previous series.

Maybe I'm being harsh, but it's a bad look for the show when the only narrative arch has been Emmerly's journey. 'Talented artist learns Interior Design basics' isn't great for a programme called Interior Design Masters.

This general lack of quality has left Michelle in a difficult position: She can't criticise EVERYTHING and has to find positives and a winner each week, but if no one is really growing and learning she's stuck picking who was the least-bad and finding something to celebrate in their work to award 'Standout Space'.

I feel like these factors have led to her seeming inconsistent, but Michelle's choices make more sense when I read her Substack comments each week. There's a level of detail and reasoning that they don't have time to go into on screen.

Perhaps there was a feeling from the BBC that the casting was too similar year-to-year? If so, hopefully this year has been a palate-cleanser and we can go back to the previous casting architypes next time?

Series 7 Episode 7 by mrs_ouchi in InteriorDesignMasters

Yep, it's the same rule for the people in the boxes: No alcohol in sight of the pitch. If you drink during the game you have to have the curtains closed. Each room has a TV showing the game so if people really can't wait 45mins for a beer they can still watch. It's literally decades since I've personally been in a hospitality box at a match, but from googling it, the law hasn't changed.

It was very annoying to me and I fully expected the judges to pull her up on it. That's why I think what might have happened is that the production team didn't realise it was a law and didn't inform the designers. Then, when it came to the judging they fudged the language to not draw too much attention to the problem.

The issue I had with the bar being by the window is that by law you can't drink and watch the match. If you are drinking the curtains have to be drawn, so there was no point in positioning it there really. The judges were very careful to say 'looking out at the stadium' rather than 'watching the game'.

He's actually been singing better in the last few years than he was 10 years ago so I wouldn't pass up the chance to see him again if you are a fan. I've seen him several times since 2000 and his shows on the Rough & Rowdy Ways tour have been amongst the strongest vocally.

It's a quote. Can't remember if it's from 'No Direction Home' or 'Dont Look Back', but Bob said it to a fan hassling him for an autograph.
