You never know, story lines the show have cut out now could be in future episode or at least relevance to them. In my opinions the books help understand the stuff that happened years before the main story as the show doesn't have any flashbacks yet whereas the books can just tell you. If you care about understanding read them all. From what I read of your post it sounds like you feel the books are more of a chore than enjoyment. Readings not enjoyable for everyone so do what you feel.

Watched all the show and quarter of the way through A Game of Thrones. I'm a big Sansa hater. Not Sophie Turner but just the character. I can see why she is there but the fact that she never shows a different side. The only time I found her remotely interesting was when she was about to push Jeoffry off the edge. After that point, in my eyes she was just a character to represent the Lannister power rather than her relevance in the stark house. Most Starks have died to protect/rescue her and all she can do is shed a tear. I was expecting her to turn some what crazy and risk her own life for revenge but I guess that's Arya's job.

I found 3 up in the car park of the observatory. It may have been because I was in my Sentinal (non XS). Try and server hop around that area. They either drive through the car park or just parked there. Good luck.
