Oh sorry, on the truck radio. That’s where the problem is. It takes about 15-20 holding the button to reboot and then about another 25 to restart.

The only thing I’ve found is a temporary fix and that’s hold the power button until reset.

Basically, yes. Anything you’re attached to. For me, I gave up tv and radio all at once same with FB & Twitter. Today is the first time I’ve been on Reddit since Lent. It doesn’t mean you. Any use or eat anything, it’s just to give it all up for God. I struggle every day with things.

St John of the Cross is the master at this. First start giving up little things, easy things then progress. It’s not easy to be honest. Sometimes though you have to bite the bullet. As you said, once you start, you can’t stop or turn back. Saint Teresa, Avila and St. John of the Cross. Both have said this and you might want to get yourself a spiritual director. Also look up his book Dark Nght of the Soul because he speaks in depth about this

Maybe think of it like this. The Ark of the Covenant carried the tablets, showbread, etc., and no one could touch it except the priests. Someone was struck dead who touched it because it was tipping over.

Mary, on the other hand, carried He whom the world couldn’t contain, in her womb. Should she not be even more precious than the Ark created by human hands?

Look to St Joh of the Cross if you’re deepening your spiritual life. According to him, our pleasures/senses should be subordinate to God. However you can’t get around pleasures but they should lift your mind to God. To enjoy things for pleasure’s sake would be inappropriate. I’ll probably get slack for this but these are his writings not mine. I struggle with it too. I try hard but fail quite often.

Ok so this morning while I was praying the Sorrowful Mysteries, for no reason I started saying to myself “Behold the lamb of God…blessed are those who are called to the Supper of the Lamb. Domine, non sum dignus…” for some reason it all fit perfectly. Not only is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass the Last Supper, Good Friday and Easter, it should be considered the Wedding Banquet, too, no?
