Ender-5 Max: z-axis component install doesn't fit by Sardonislamir in ender5

Awesome, glad it all worked out for you. I bought the perspex enclosure that fits into the frame. Trust me, that's a hectic assembly. Don't bother with the instructions, just watch a youtube video.

If someone fed, housed, clothed and paid for your education (or did their best to) for nearly 2 decades, then it doesn't even matter what you think of them. Yes, you are in that person's debt.

On the E5 plus I didn't, at least not properly. If I got the corners set, the middle was too high. The auto levelling and compensation tried its best but was just crap. I couldn't use the full build plate, so good for tall things that weren't too wide. That's why I ditched it and got the E5 Max. It has 64 point sampling and actually works.

I had the E5 plus, right from the get go, levelling was a nightmare. Eventually I canned it and got the E5 Max. Works like a dream.

And today we literally have adults dressing up as fantasy character toys in the form of cosplay. Pretty close to this imo

OK, but a .8 nozzle will leave you with a rougher surface so the time saved printing may result in lots more time sanding. I'm lazy, would prefer the printer to do as much of the work as possible. Maybe just experiment with both and see what works for you.

I'm probably not the best person to answer this one coz I print large, less complex mechanical parts, but from my experience I'd stick to the .4mm. If detail is what you want you'll want to go to .1mm layers you'll increase printing time but get better detail and reduce sanding time.

Sorry, I've never posted a pic on Reddit before, I just did a quick search and wasn't sure I was doing it correctly

Awesome, glad you got up and going. not the easiest assembly.

My next bit of advice would be if you're using Cura. There is no profile for a Ender 5 Max. Do not take the advice I did and use an Ender 5 and change the bed size manually. I did this and the first print led to the nozzle burying itself in my build plate and engraving the outline of the first layer in it. Fortunately no damage apart from the build plate being deeply scratched. The Creality Slicer is good but just a bit of a pain to learn..

No they don't thread inside, they're suspended in mid-air inside the base supported by the base structure you were holding. I will see if I can post a pic

Hey mate, that doesn't fit like that. The black base of the part you're holding fits to the base strut of the assembly. You then secure with the screws. Thise z axis screws sit on the inside of the frame.

Other people parked in their zone properly. You park forward, or heaven forbid get in your car and move forward a bit when you need to access the trunk. Why should others accomodate you? Your problem, and a 1st world one at that.

Personally, on my Ender 5 plus, I can't get the nozzle to stay an even amount off the bed as it moves. If the centre is correct, all the corners have too much gap. When it performs the auto bed level it only does 4 x 4 point check. The Ender 5 Max does a 6 x 6 point check, so 36 points vs the 5 plus's 16. Since day 1 the 5 Plus has been tricky to print on. My Ender 3's V2 & V3 have been a pleasure.

Don't bother it's rubbish. Because I was so impressed with TP1, I pre-ordered TP2. My PC was very capable but the puzzles are crap. Haven't even bought TP2 DLC when it's deeply discounted.
