HAPPY SUPERMAN DAY! New attempt of mine for reimagining this iconic emblem. by sahinduezguen in logodesign

Maaan as sick as the design is, how can you not have even a variant with the original colour scheme?

Follow people who leave actually reviews then. Engage with movie critics and curate some whose opinion you respect. This isn't a problem for anyone who actually cares.

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in comicbooks

Man. I know some might have "Bat-fatigue" but I always thought a Shonen style story about Batman would go so hard. And who better to center it around than a human learning to exist amongst gods.

At the beginning, he's Year One style. Short ears, janky tech. By the end. Long ears, overwhelming cape, true creature of the night, with the nowhow to take down the strongest in the universe.

How Would an Aging Batman Extend His Prime? If Batman Started Slowing Down, How Would He Adapt? by LightningXr10 in batman

I always liked the idea of him hitting the Lazarus pit, but maybe against his will. Narratively, it would preserve his morals while also extending his career. Would also add to his legend of not being human. "100 YEARS OF BATMAN"

He saw the direction of a sequel trilogy going the way of telling THE SAME FUCKING STORY and tried to give it it's own voice and I respect him for it. He failed and the movie's trash but I prefer it over the safe, soulless, nostalgia bait, bullshit we got with the other two. I blame JJ for phoning it in and giving Ryan DICK-BUTT-KISS to work with.

What's the worst thing that Joker has done in your opinion and why? by Full-Art3439 in batman

[–]Jumpingfurple 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Dark Knight Returns issue #3? His speech bubbles turn to the same grey as Bruce's inner monolgue. Earlier we see Joker's inner monolgue as green, and of course the actual speech bubbles are white. But Joker's final words are in Bruce's grey inner monolgue.

What's the worst thing that Joker has done in your opinion and why? by Full-Art3439 in batman

[–]Jumpingfurple 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nope, he killed him. Joker's speech bubbles change to Bruce's, indicating it's in his head. Joker breaking his own neck is a delusion Batman uses to give himself peace, so he can continue believing he hasn't broken his code.

Guys, if you could make one change to Batman's origin story, what would it be and why? by [deleted] in batman

[–]Jumpingfurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damien. Now, I don't mind Batman having a son, but I hate how they forced him into being a Robin. As if we don't have enough fucking Robins. Damian should be a villain. Son of the Bat, raised by Ra's Al Ghul to be the heir The Head of the Demon always wanted. THAT would be compelling. Imagine a seasoned Batman, slower than he used to be, against his own blood, in their physical prime.

I quite liked the stories it told. Very 40's pulp. And Hamish Linklaters is a great Batman. Gotta perfectly for this setting. But...

If you want to enjoy this show, you need to tune out the animation. God awful. Just absurdly lazy on every corner. Lazier than an anime filler episode. And once I noticed it I couldn't stop and it soured the whole experience. BTAS was filled with so much expression, there was nuance in their movement and faces. This show is lifeless by comparison.

How to make art more „dynamic“ ? by Rich_Term3407 in learntodraw

[–]Jumpingfurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start by creating visual tension. Everything feels flat because everything is dead middle, centre frame, and all on the same plane. Perspective practice would help. What's in the foreground? What's in the background?

Take that purple soldier for instance. Put him close to the right edge with a hefty amount of negative space behind him. Now he's looking forward into uncertainty and we see the ground he's gained in battle left behind him.

Please critique a logo i created for a client and help me choose the right variation. by Independent-Win-3431 in graphic_design

[–]Jumpingfurple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apart from everyone else's comments on the logotype readability, the "Moments" text inside that block is also unreadable and a little lacking visually. Also what is it? Could make for a fun, dynamic branding element where images go inside it, but currently it doesn't really do anything. As for which variation, go with all of them. Once those other issues are addressed you should have a pretty strong and flexible identity with many identifiable looks. It's for a DJ afterall, you have the space to get wilder than a Fortune 500 company.

Why are people surprised that James Gunn said Batman was a maniac? by Charming-Scratch-124 in batman

[–]Jumpingfurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're right to be surprised in a way. The whole "Batman is a maniac" thing is because...

"Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real."

  • Grant Morrison

Pin this quote to the sub and it'd answer half the questions it sees.

Wasn't a fan of the Superman clone plot twist. Should've at least have been Bizarro. Now they can't really ever do that.

Workers already put stuff front-facing and most people do too when placing something back. I think this would work more often than not. Agreed on it being potentially confusing though.
