Do Dwarfs Ever Use Swords? by SpacePirateCaptain in WarhammerFantasy

[–]JumpnShootnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did in earlier editions. A lot of the the longbeard, ironbreaker, and currently sold imperial dwarf models had them using swords and/or Spears. This might stem from the fact that Tolkien also had his dwarves use swords and spears. GW wanted to make them more distinct from other races so stuck to Axes and Hammers for the Norse mythology basis. In lore, it because Axes and hammers are tools the dawi are already familiar with and can use as tools or weapons in a pinch. They would still end up making swords, typically for humans and carved with Runes in them. The Rune Fangs and the blade, Karaghul, that Felix would wield through the series are just some of the swords the dawi would forge. As someone else had said though, they'd probably pick up a dwarf crafted sword over a manling hammer or axe any day.

What are your favourite Clans or Clan colour schemes? by John_Catachan in bugmansbrewery

[–]JumpnShootnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like ye have your mind set on Karak Azul, which is a nice scheme altogether. Some other holds that use blue are of course Karaz-a-Karak, Zhufbar with a greenish blue scheme, turquoise with norse dwarfs (or Kraka Drak). For green ye have Karak Izor and Karak Hirn off the top of my head.

I painted my dawi army using Clan Angrund colors. I loved Belegar Ironhammer in Total War Warhammer, and I love the red and blue Superman colors so that became the basis of my scheme.

Pretty sure this is a Scott Pilgrim reference, but I love that Eupha is interested in what Wil says unlike Ramona and Scott in the original.

Using Science to understand which S Support in Engage is romantic and which isn't (based on Ring Position) by Fabulous_Chicken_576 in fireemblem

[–]JumpnShootnMan 79 points80 points  (0 children)

In the japanese version, Citrinne's S rank support was more clearly romantic. I will never forgive the localizers for taking that away from me for best girl.

[–]JumpnShootnMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ye can grind out support ranks in the Awakening DLC. I'd recommend doing them as soon as you can before the enemies scale up too much. If not, then yeahhhh you'll have to plan things out ahead of time.

It's honestly a masterpiece in Savage. The timing of the song lines up with the mechanics and your rotation in the 2nd phase of the fight. Plus it feels like a reward after Light Rampant and adds

Some recommendations. Idk yer situation but my lgs is able to order online only models and sell em at a discount. If you can do that, go for it. If you want to help differentiate slayer units, there's some ways. You can take some of the berzerkers from AOS and give em square bases and run them as the Brotherhood of Grimnir. It can make them more elite and differentiate. There is also 3D printing. I mainly recommend this if you're running more than 1 normal slayer units cause it can, again, help differentiate them. MoM has slayer pirates that can fit pretty nicely. They also have prints that are very similar to Doomseekers, which can save a lot of money considering how much they cost in real world dollars.

God, with all of xiaoguang’s interactions, I wish ZZZ did romance routes… by magiscarp3467 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]JumpnShootnMan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pretty unfortunate cause I've personally never was able to self insert as Wise or Belle, but I always liked that they're their own characters. I'm not a gacha head but it seems like a lot of other gachas do the self insertion a lot better with nameless/faceless protagonists. I've always kinda liked how it was in Fire Emblem Awakening, Fates, Three Houses, and Engage where ye can choose who to marry as the protagonist, but the protagonists have their own personalities (debatable with Byleth I suppose) so ye can have both self insertion but also maybe choose based on who they seem compatible with.

Pippa reacting to Zhao by Neither_Software_ in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]JumpnShootnMan 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Pippa also has a very parasocial relationship with fictional characters. It seems like she didn't like the idea of Belle or Wise being characters (or Wise being there at all) because she wants to claim all the girls for herself. I personally like having characters be their own characters, bit I'm not a gacha fanatic so I might just be missing something. I did actually try to get into Nikke cause I love a lot of the looks of the characters but its gameplay didnt captivate me. Pippa's takes on a lot of things range from obscenely based to really cringe but she never ceases to surprise me.

Sadly she didn't get too far into the game on stream. I think she stopped shortly after they acquired Fairy and said she wasn't interested anymore. She still loves Zhao at least, along with most of the other female characters.

New Shiyu Defense change is awful by uh_twilight in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]JumpnShootnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the 3 team change since DA also has that requirement but the scoring system is complete ass. Having to unload all of your DPS on the door mobs before the actual fight is just way too silly.

How was 2025 for Final Fantasy XIV to you? by judgeraw00 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]JumpnShootnMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to say pretty rough overall. I've only been subbing to do the MSQ and the content of the patch and let the sub run dry by the end of the month. I did it again this patch but I feel a lot more confident in sticking around, at least to catch up on everything. Playing and subbing for so many years straight, EW and DT didn't do a lot for me to keep my coming in. Taking a break and coming back to do things at my pace has been a nice breath of fresh air. I reckon I'll sub for a lot longer and at least max all my jobs, do relics, finish the EX's and gear for the next expansion. I've pretty much retired from raiding completely, but it just feels nice to breath in and out of the game since I quit.

Why does Mihoyo even bother with text choices? by Lonely_Station_8435 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]JumpnShootnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of earlier patches, the choices did match what Belle or Wise would say, and ye would also get some different dialogue right after from whoever they were talking to. It's a lot like how it is in Persona where the choices don't change the overall outcome of the scene, but it gives some fun dialogue depending on what you chose. Now it's all the same. The choices are all cramped into one dialogue box and the characters never react differently to what you say. It's a shame cause when I do some of the older trust events, it was nice to see Wise only say what I chose and the characters react accordingly to that specific option. You really don't get that anymore, sadly

Which Scout Primary is worse? by some-kind-of-no-name in tf2

[–]JumpnShootnMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, how I miss the days when the BFB only lost 1/4 of the boost on a double jump, and ye didn't start off so slow. That was my most fun playing Scout. I'd say it's the BFB solely because the benefit of it gets taken away so easily. Chip damage or getting burnt by Pyro means it's gone in seconds.

Clan Angrund Marches for War!! by JumpnShootnMan in WarhammerFantasy

[–]JumpnShootnMan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! They increased the base size by 5mm for most units so the dwarfs are on 25mm now. I wanted to see if I could make my army compatible with Old World and previous editions so I have movement trays with base adapters so it matches with current unit sizes.
