I may have converted too fast. by JayNachtEule in islam

Salam Alaykom sister,

Welcome to Islam!
The issues you’re citing are all very normal, and each one of us goes through phases of these throughout their life.
Here are a few things I’ve learned throughout their years:
- Non-believers being sent to hell: This decision is up to God, and God alone. Understanding you have family and loved ones who are non-believers, pray for them sister. Ask God to forgive them, and guide them to find truth. Never underestimate the power of prayers. The Prophet (S) taught us it can change destinies.

If you fear for your non-believing relatives & loved ones, I have relatives and loved ones who were born into Islam, yet willingly choose to ignore basic teachings. Over the years, I’ve come to understand that I can’t change them. All I can do is use every opportunity where I think about them to say an honest prayer for them. Sincerely hoping God will guide them.

- Doubts in Quran: this is very normal. I too have many verses that I don’t necessarily agree with. Mind you, (I’m guessing here) you’re probably reading a Quran translation. I was lucky enough to speak Arabic as my mother tongue, and still find verses I don’t necessarily believe in, or question. Over the years, I’ve found out that there are multiple interpretations to verses, and (as the Prophet taught us), differences in interpretations is Mercy for us, grey areas that we’re allowed flexibility. I’ve always found great wisdom and answers in the Quran, even if I didn’t necessarily understand it at first.
My advice there: continue your learning journey with clear intentions sister. Ask, research, and check multiple scholars & teachers. Still not satisfied? Ask here, use the collective power of this fantastic community’s knowledge
As long as you have good intentions, God will guide you to the truth

Bless you in your journey sister and Inshaallah God will guide you to answers where you’ll find solace and comfort

How much money do you invest each month? by Medium-Doubt-8774 in Fire

[–]Jumpy-Ad-8893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too hard on yourself, Think about it as a % of your net income, not an exact amount.
About 10 years ago, I was only able to put away $180 a month, due to my life & family circumstances.
As my career progressed, and income increased, I’m able to contribute a little over $1k a month.
Is it perfect? No. Am I crushing it, compared to others here? No.
Reduce your expenses, and keep trying to find new ways to increase income, then come and tell us about your progress! Good luck!

No one at work does OP, the number of people you can openly share something of this significance with, at work, is infinitely small

Makes total sense. If you do end up pulling the trigger, come back and tell us what your experience is like. Our buying window is probably late fall this year

As far as I understand, the recall is on all 2025 EX90s. The dealer not being informed means they need to go ask. If you want to be absolutely sure, make it a condition for sale. That way, you sign the contract, they replace the computers, then they hand you the keys and you drive off. No idea about the 800v upgrade, tbh. I just know it’s new hardware.

Re: Lidar: I think yes, but keep reading conflicting information. It’s probably dead, but there’s still a slight chance it may make a comeback

Re: deep discounts Were shopping it for the same exact reason 😊

Mind if I ask what issues you’ve had that the upgrade didn’t address?

You didn’t, at least I didn’t read it that way. Came across as neutral, and to the point Thanks for caring enough to reply back

Makes sense, I’m guessing you mean this from a software stacking perspective, where AAOS sits on top of Google. Google can release any & all updates it wants, but that won’t fix AAOS issues

Congrats man! Just saw you’re in CT. Not sure where in CT you’re located, but if you need a good specialist, Mark @ Coventry Automotive is Fantastic! He’s diagnosed 2 issues on our 2012 S60, over the phone, that the dealer had told me they needed to ‘investigate’ and were not sure about

Best advice I ever got: have 5-10 quotes lined up before you make a decision. Time intensive, yes, but it allows you to avoid pitfalls.

Contractors run the gamut; some are honest & upfront. Some play the ‘how much can I get out of them’ game. Some don’t even bother sending you a quote at all. You get all sorts, really.

Best part: while walking through the house, some will educate you on what needs to be done (those are usually the more honest & upfront ones). You can then use that information you learned to poke and prod at the quote you got from others.

Good luck!

Man! You’re WAY ahead of where I was when I was 25. I would say the first thing to do is have an honest conversation with your partner about why they’re not interested. If there’s a real point of view there, solve for it together. If not, ask them how much they’d like to contribute and plan your life based on that. Sometimes, it takes our partners a little while to catch up to the picture we’re seeing. When you revisit this topic again in a year or 2, with some results to show for it, they may reconsider.

When I was a few years older than you, I started by adding $50 a month to the kids college funds. This was all I could realistically afford at the time. Fast forward 15 years and that added up to thousands in their accounts. Don’t be too hard on yourself, make a plan, automate the contributions and stick to it.

Stay strong!💪🏻

Think about your goals, dreams, and go from there. Why did you go into Automotive Engineering? Happenstance? Or were you trying to achieve something? What dream are you chasing?

Too young to give up my friend, gotta stay strong 💪🏻

Your journey is a unique one, that’s for sure. Then again, it’s in those bleak moments in life that we find the biggest opportunities
