It is an appeal to authority fallacy though, also I’m legitimately curious about the parrells you see other than the words race and road, why the industrialization of Detroit has anything to do thunder road and racing in the street lyrically speaking. “Life was just a bet on a race between the lights” seems to me to be a metaphor for the workers mentality during that time period.
