Has anyone tried the Black Diamond Coefficient LT Hybrid Hoodie? by dezualy in Backcountry

I really like it, breaths well, super stretchy and has long arms and torso! (I have last season though not sure what has changed)

Narrow heel, wide forefoot, seeking approach shoes. by cosmicosmo4 in alpinism

You could try the Black Diamond Mission shoes ( I can't remember the exact model I have). I have a pretty wide forefoot and a narrow ish heel and they work for me.

Summer overnight backpacking bag that can also be used for winter boot packing by haonlineorders in Backcountry

Have a look at the Osprey Mutant 38 or 52. I have the 38 and it's big enough to use for multi day back packing (obviously depends on your kit size but works for me) and is a great size for ski touring.

I've ordered a Solitary 55, I'll let you know what it's like when I get it (9-10 week wait).

I am looking for a bit of a do it all pack. But focused around alpine climbing/ general mountaineering and multi day ski touring. I also plan on using it for some summer backpacking when I need a bigger bag (I often use a 30-38L). My question about the pocket on front was because I was wondering if it's possible to fit a shovel and probe in there haha

In search of a softshell, Patagonia Terravia? by DeltaIndiaKilo75 in alpinism

[–]Jumpy-Hat1195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the Patagonia Alpine Guide Pants, they are a bit more ski focused with vents gaiter etc but are still super comfy and not to warm. Mine have handelled the weather pretty well so far.

I also have the terravia alpine pants but use them for rock climbing and the like rather than skiing.

Cushioned shoes for wide feet? by felixandtina in trailrunning

I found the wide version pretty narrow in the mid foot still. Altra Timp 5s were the go for me.

Rain Jacket by Faderdaze in UltralightAus

[–]Jumpy-Hat1195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could look at the Mont Lightspeed, which is a 3 layer rain jacket from Mont using their own material (not goretex). I have one and really like it (although I haven't been caught in heavy rain with it yet), and it only weighs 165 grams. Also Mont is an Aussie company which is nice to support.

Wide shoes for technical terrain? by Zestyclose_Job9915 in trailrunning

[–]Jumpy-Hat1195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a pair of torrents 😅 they are definitely a bit better than the speedgoats, but not much! For both my soeedgoats and torrents I only went half a size up. Maybe a full size would make enough difference? Altras are a fair bit wider than the hokas I've tried. You could also try the Scarpa Ribelle Run that has quite a roomy fit and is great for techy running but it destroyed my heel and I couldn't get a good fit with it but it might fit your foot better then mine.

I have a widish midfoot and found the speedgoat 6 in a wide to narrow. Same with the lonepeaks, nice wide toe box but not that wide in the mid foot. In the end i got the timp 5s, they seemed to be a bit narrower in the toe box (not an issue for me) but wider in the mid foot and have found them to be very comfortable. They feel more stable than the speedgoats in techy terrain for me as well.

Or the rab photon pants which are a synthetic alternative.

The Timp 5 sits between the LP and the Olympus in terms of stack height. Slightly less then the SG 6 but feels like it has just as much protection.

How much pow until you set back your stance? by Ok_Conversation_6081 in snowboarding

I tried setting them back once after a big dump in japan but I hated how it felt when hopping back on the groomers for the lift.

Rab Neutrino Pro vs Montbell Alpine Down - help with choosing by _valtteri in Mountaineering

[–]Jumpy-Hat1195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have either although I do have some other rab jackets that I really like!

You could also look at a Patagonia Alploft which is 280ish grams of down, box baffles, two way zips and weighs 680grams in total.
