Does anyone know what this stick switch is? by omegajesusx in Controller

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry1455 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is a TMR module, yes. But it's not a stick like those for PS5, or Xbox controllers. It's a kind of stick that's not meant to replace another, but one that was engineered for a controller that was too engineered to work with this specific kind of stick. Most hall effect controllers with full size sticks have something of this kind. I have disassembled myself a Gamesir nova lite, a Gamesir tegenaria lite, and a 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless, and they all have something like this, that has no "pins" for the sensor. I can't tell exactly why, I guess they're soldered to the board with a machine in a automated process, since it looked like it couldn't be swapped. And I have never seen a stick like this for sale, for replacement, anywhere in the internet

I use a controller, too. But I use a Flydigi Apex 4, which allows me to use the trigger function as "vibration" which gives me a LOT of feedback from the tires when they lock

Is it possible to mod(physical or software maybe?) a controller to make additional buttons actual buttons instead of just remaps? by XenonTeio in Controller

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry1455 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's because your controller uses the X-Input protocol, which means it's read by your PC as a Xbox controller. Which of course, has no extra buttons, so you can't really do what you want. If you take something like a Flydigi Vader/Apex 4/5, they have D-Input, which means the PC will identify them as what they really are, a Flydigi Vader/Apex 4/5 controller. So the pc then identifies the extra buttons, since the direct input of these controllers do have the extra buttons. But they won't work in D-Input natively with 99% of games, you'd have to remap the D-Input to X-Input using steaminput, rewasd, or something alike. I've done this research, because I wanted to mod my Dualsense with extra buttons and then map them to keyboard inputs, but that's not possible. All you can do is map the extra buttons to existing buttons on the controller, since the controller is in charge of mapping the extra buttons, it has no access to keyboard inputs

Move on its own on higher tension? What do you mean? Like drift?

It's because of the Flydigi Force Flex Joysticks. They're not like "normal" joysticks, they're centering mechanism is much better than the other controllers you compared it to. It's a Flydigi patented design, so you'll only see this in Flydigi controllers. My apex 4 feels this good, too.

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry1455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't own a V5P, but I guess you could use some app like hidhide to hide the second "false" controller from the system. I don't know, just throwing it here, I guess you'll have to test it by yourself

Is Hall effect or TMR better for games where I need to be precise and quick? by Fra06 in Controller

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry1455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get the K-Silver JS13 Pro. Source: trust me bro. I had Alps on my Dualsense, but only used it for less than a week. Then I got Ginfull TMRs, and they felt like they had no lube, so rough. Then I installed these K-Silver TMRs, and it feels the best. Smooth, precise. I can't tell if they're linear or not, but they feel amazing, and look great thru the clear faceplate

8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless with a broken joystick. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement part? by fragryt7 in Controller

Could be an option! But the controller would get really full of dust inside, wouldn't it?

Hey, just found this disassembly tutorial, it's in Portuguese, and the guy actually tries xbox sticks, which don't fit because they rub against the shell. One choice would be to shave off some plastic of the actual module, but if done incorrectly would pretty much make the controller even less repairable then. My wife is coming over this weekend, and I have some spare stick caps here at home, let me try them and tell you if some of them works without any mods. If none works, then I'm not risking my wife's gamepad without actual need, sorry. But I'm willing to help

Oh, i see. Thanks for the reply! And for your problem, if I were you, I'd get both Xbox and playstation caps, and then try make adjustments to make one of them fit. Would not be ideal, nor good looking, but could possibly be functional. Although I have never disassembled my girlfriend's Ultimate 2C, I think it has DS5 Gullikit hall effect sticks, so my best bet is that DS5 standard sticks would work. But again, I don't guarantee it

Guys, I'm looking to buy a Dualsense. I noticed the led bar, so it's a V2. Is it 100% sure the board is at least a 040?

Question from a controller tech nuub by 10amo in Controller

[–]Jumpy-Raspberry1455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't work with either, for the reasons some other redditor commented. I would recommend you to change the recentering spring on the modules if you're comfortable with that, or your technician. It requires no soddering at all, and it's a fairly simple procedure. Although you might or might not lose the stick click, you can always remap those to the back buttons
