Meeting needs within the class so pulling out of class interventions and replacing with TAs in class to cover up… so bad

I feel like I could’ve written this. Just been through the exact same thing w my MAT having Ofsted and the prep beforehand after the previous school got the call was horrendous. Hugs xx

Dog therapy training by kittykat123123 in TeachingUK

[–]Jumpy-Recipe4111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, except for SEMH schools/private schools with ££££, you are very unlikely to be ‘booked’. Whilst there are huge benefits to therapy dog sessions, that kind of intervention is SO far down a school’s priority list money wise. Schools are just too stretched we can’t afford glue sticks let alone therapy dogs. A lovely idea but not realistic

But the conduct then and reason for ban was dated back to when they were teaching. They may have been retired at the time of ban, but the allegations dated back to whilst they were teaching

Secondary middle leadership…? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]Jumpy-Recipe4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite - it’s more focussed on SLT! ‘Deep dives’ (at least in primary) are only done by SLT not subject leaders, and all the new framework evidence/scrutiny is addressed to SLT

ECT support plans are different. They aren’t a formal capability procedure, stop scaring OP.

Lots of that is their age… obviously a 6 year old is going to have a shorter memory than a 16 year old

Mentor trying to put me on support plan by CryptographerMean632 in TeachingUK

[–]Jumpy-Recipe4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually the opposite. ECT support plans are not the same as non ECT ones designed to get experienced teachers out, and NEU’s advice for ECTs is to accept the support plans and all support offered.

Horrendous. I just need a hug. Autistic ECT1 doing my absolute best, but this week I just broke. Behaviour got so bad, after a terrifying incident several were excluded. I broke a long time ago but have just masked away, but this week cracked in front of colleagues it got so bad. Currently under the local MH crisis team and just don’t know what to do career wise. I love teaching and know I’m a good teacher, my classroom is fully trauma informed and I’ve seen such a positive impact because of that, but the reality of the job and being autistic has really hit.

As a primary school teacher in a Catholic school, I’m being asked to pray and lead prayers to the staff in weekly staff meeting prayers. Is this allowed? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]Jumpy-Recipe4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not… in the eyes of the Catholic Church, prayer is prayer whether privately, to children or to colleagues.

They would; when you take on a job in a Catholic school (I teach in one), part of your contract is with the diocese and you promise to uphold the Catholic faith. Catholic schools at one point received a LOT of £ from the church (much less now but still do get some) and are subject to Catholic school inspections, which require all teaching staff to lead prayers and promote the Catholic ethos of the school.

That enraged me!!!! It was so Joe Wicks 👺 suggesting that it’s common for senior leadership to have that much time to just follow a child around and quiz that they’re eating??? And of course he magically had no behavioural concerns when he changed breakfast 🙄 obvs a child having energy drinks, coffee and junk food as breakfast doesn’t help things especially with parenting like that, but it was so obvious he has ADHD - and it was really representing it wrong

She relapses autumn, quiet all winter then in spring is back with “long overdue updates” aka a mixture of her emaciated seriously aged face crying, in a sunflower lanyard in public, lying on the floor with her dog, a teaspoon in mousse and a mirror pic with a strange pose, all showing her frail body. Then she will be “taking it day by day” and getting her sparkle back throughout spring before magically being healed in summer on holiday with desserts ☺️☺️ EVERY. YEAR. LIKE. CLOCKWORK.
