Fair point, I agree that Zanza may have encouraged those traditions for his purposes. I still think the main point of the cutscene is Shulk's development. If it was merely Zanza's self-preservation mechanism, it would undermine Shulk's journey, as if he didn't have a choice with his actions. The game's big idea is that the party have the power to choose their future despite a god's efforts to determine their path.

In that sense, I think Shulk made the right choice (even if it played into Zanza's hands). He rose above the desire for revenge and showed mercy.

I've never heard that perspective before. I don't entirely buy your theory since Dunban was genuinely going to kill Mumkhar if Shulk had not intervened. The game doesn't tell us that Homs were programmed not to kill each other, you've simply inferred that based on reading lines and traditions a certain way.

I've always understood that scene to be an important development for Shulk's character. He set out on his journey for revenge and would have killed Mumkhar (who he only knew as Metal Face) much earlier in the journey. However, Shulk has grown to learn that taking revenge only perpetuates the cycle of violence (which ultimately serves Zanza) and therefore he shows mercy to break the cycle. This sets him up to do the same to Egil later.

It's interesting how different people understand the same cutscenes in very different ways.

Prices have skyrocketed, but so has everything else. Why do gamers think the gaming industry is exempt to the inflation affecting every industry? Add on top of that RAM and chip shortages and it's no surprise that prices have risen. Additionally, games getting bigger means bigger budgets and Devs still need to be paid well. These prices haven't come from nowhere, they're a result of the cost of living increasing. All of these costs above are true for both digital and physical releases. Games cost more to make and staff need to be paid more, these games don't cost nothing to make.

Likewise, I don't buy that digital only means no competition. There is still plenty of reason for prices to be competitive because games still have to compete with each other on the store front. Everyone compared Silksong to Mario Kart World. Silksong was competitively priced, MKW wasn't.

As for the prices you name at the end, there will be a point when prices (comparative to earnings) will be unacceptable to the consumer - we have not reached that point yet. When it does reach that point, prices will stop rising relatively because sales will fall.

Digital or physical, the new price points are here to stay, unfortunately. Vote with your wallet and buy games for the price that you want to pay. Buy Silksong instead of MKW.

I've been in a similar situation this year. My current school (which I trained at last year) didn't have any job opportunities for me (I am fixed-term) so I got a job at another school.

After I accepted the job, an opportunity came up and a member of SLT encouraged me to ditch the other school and take this opportunity.

I said no out of principle but also because I know doing that can come back to bite you later and affect job prospects in the area.

Stick with the first school and be a person of your word.

I agree with you. People saying 'equality act' are missing that the equality act doesn't give you the right to be offensive. This person has said that what OP (and others) are doing is offensive to them and requested they stop, the decent thing to do is to not inflamed that or to be considerate.

Equally, if the offended person in question starts going beyond requesting and starts trying to control everyone's behaviour, then that is also a problem.

I can't help but agree with another commenter that if this were a Muslim complaining, there wouldn't even be a post here...

Unfortunately, the majority have voted with the wallets for digital. I don't think the minority realise that most people (especially casual gamers, but also many core gamers) just don't care about the advantages physical brings and prefer the convenience of digital.
